That might be the book. It was in a different form when I bought it online. There is probably better stuff out there these days, but it was the first thing that I encountered that tipped me off to all the "beta" behavior I was doing.

I don't know a good guide;there may be some good online resources. I had a book on it, but I mostly learned it from having a number of sessions with an old lady who trained with the guy who founded it (some guy with the last name Alexander). I wouldn't necessarily suggest it to everyone, but it certainly helped me when I was experience a lot of tension in my body. I rarely hear about it anymore. I think it was popular with actors at some point, but I'm not sure if that's still the case. I rememb…

My improvements started when I broke up a very unhealthy 3-year relationship. I encountered stuff about being an alpha male by John Alexander (?). It identified a lot of stuff that I was doing wrong. For example, I was very fidgety. It didn't just make me nervous; it made others around me nervous. I learned to control that. Now I move deliberately and with poise and composure. Prior to this, I had studied the Alexander Technique, so this was helpful in teaching me how to "inhibit" bad patterns o…

Can you tell us a bit about the general theme of his approach? Is it similar at all to some of the other seduction philosophies out there? I love to learn, but again, I just could not get past the way he chooses to communicate.

I'm not trying to being a hater, but I couldn't get past the way he speaks. It sounds like he's playing a character. I just want to tell him to just drop the act and speak normally. It slightly reminds me of this.

That's quite the monologue. Sounds so unnecessarily aggressive. I would probably just skip to the turn and chat with someone part.

I use violence as a first resort. Besides that, good list.

Good points about the use of the word "kino." I feel that this word is probably pretty useful (though as counterpoint, much had been written about the importance of physical contact in social situations before this word became commonly used).

I haven't clicked your link, but I know what it is, and I love this movie. I just watched it again yesterday.

Thanks for posting this. I scanned it, but didn't read it all. The authors are probably very involved in the community. To this end, we do contend that such material has the potential for abuse and urge caution with the use of the Community’s material, especially in the context of short-term relationships where sexual activity may be the sole objective. On the other hand, within the context of helping people to initiate long-term, stable relationships, we argue that informed male behaviors are n…

As a guy who left college over 10 years ago, I get a little jealous of dudes who are learning this stuff while still in school. It seems to me that any approach in college is a pretty warm approach because you belong to the same organization (even if it's a large school).

Ha - I like the joke. I usually joke about how small my dick is, but how it will be the most pleasurable 15 seconds of her life.

It's not that. It's that your response was written in the exact same pseudo-intellectual manner that the OP employed. Not to mention that you're a Redditor of 6 days with only two comments, both of which are replies to me. Keep denying it though :)

It is so glaringly obvious to me that Harder_to_Know is actually the OP coming to his own defense via a throwaway account. In the spirit of your initial post, why not have some integrity?

Excellent job -- that took balls. One thing: Is this a cold approach or a warm approach? I always considered approaching in classes and stuff like that a warm approach. For example, I went to a Meetup tonight and approached a bunch of people, but I considered it warm because we're all there with Meetup. Sure, there were like 150 people there, but we still had a certain connection. It's not like approaching a girl on the street or in a random club.

And what we need right now as a species with all the problems we're facing (the ice caps are melting, pollution, climate change, overpopulation, freak weather, radiation from nuclear testing and accidents, etc etc.), as a species we need better ideas, not more guys yearning to be alpha first and an individual critical thinker second. And I feel that this is a problem that has virtually gone unaddressed inasfar as the pickup community is concerned. Those things are WAY outside the scope of the pi…

I'm not particularly taking issue with it, though I disagree with your suggestion that the point of the seduction community should be to somehow change societal norms (again, specifically, which norms and in what society?). I wish you luck in your crusade against being a handbag.

Sounds like you're doing great. It seems like the girl is really into you. Obviously, you should be more aggressive physically on day #2.

If you want to pursue a rigorous academic analysis of modern concepts of masculinity and femininity, you're probably in the wrong subreddit. I love women. They turn me on. That's why I'm here. I'm not here to work towards changing societal norms. Societal norms are somewhat arbitrary; travel the world to see the variety. Why do they need changing -- so you can feel better about yourself? What is it, in as few words as possible (please), that you are objecting to? Can I also share a tip for makin…

+1 for paleo. I found that it improved cognition, made me look awesome (I have a flat stomach with zero effort), and significantly reduced my anxiety.

Singing bowls? I've never heard of that. In able to tune in to sounds in the way you describe to experience meditative states, so I have to check this out.

I don't think we need a goal or conclusion, as you put it. I don't think you should let your thoughts about what meditation should be guide your meditation practice. Part of meditation is discovering what lies beyond your thoughts, attachments, desires, etc. It's not the same as going to the gym or practicing guitar.

This condition is called hyperhydrosis and it doesn't necessarily mean that he experiences more social anxiety than people who don't sweat like crazy. There is a medical procedure to get it fixed (which is the same procedure they use to eliminate excessive blushing), but it can have some negative side effects. I used to have terrible blushing and had considered the procedure, but in the end thought that I didn't want to mess with it. The blushing has subsided to a large degree.

I already am in the habit of approaching. Or at least trying (the more "cold" the approach, the more I hesitate). As I've mentioned, I'm very comfortable warm approaching, and am often the most outgoing person in a warm setting. But I want to see what's possible for me, and my hope is that the bootcamp can help give me a glimpse. I also would like feedback from people who have worked with every type of guy with every conceivable problem. I think that can be helpful. I realize it's no magic pill.

I don't see how deciding to learn from people who have a shitload of experience and probably have tremendous insight is setting some type of negative precedent. I think it's OK to admit that I have trouble in certain areas and to seek help from someone in a position to help. Would you say the same thing to someone seeking out a therapist for cognitive-behavior therapy, or a business consultant, or a speech therapist? There is a ton of shit that you can either choose to learn solely by yourself, …

I said that I haven't taken enough action, and they I get approach anxiety. I actually find it easy and fun to approach in warm environments like a dance class or other social setting. I do this all the time.

Why are you mad? I already take salsa and music lessons, and I don't really have time for other courses. My living space is fine, and I currently have enough books to read (and will seek out more when I'm through with the ones I'm working on). I have a gym membership (I'm in good shape), and I don't need more clothes. I suppose I could spend more money on hygiene products, but I just prefer to stick with the basics.

I saw some David Wygant videos about talking in elevators and offering to share a giant cookie at Whole Foods with women, and it just seemed dorky and...I guess the word is uncalibrated.
