a minor is not able to “consent” under the letter of the law in this instance. I don’t care what the letter of the law is. The law has no bearing on what’s moral. It’s unethical to give someone a ten year sentance for having consensual sex with someone over the age of consent. Also...you need an education on what consent means for christs sake.... I think you do, considering you think the only bearing on consent is what the government claims consent is. let's take this a step further....imagine …

Problem with the teacher-student "relationship" is power imbalance. Same as a prison guard and inmate, boss and employee. Yes, which is why she should be fired and should never teach again. A ten year sentence is insane. If this was a man who was sentenced for ten years for having consensual sex with an adult, this sub would be in an uproar.

I don’t like this, honestly. She had sex with a 17 year old and an 18 year old. The age of consent in Alabama is 16. Is it gross and creepy? Yes. Should she be fired? Absolutely. Should she be put in jail for an entire decade for having consensual sex with people who are over the age of consent? No.

In some cases, absolutely.

And what happens when she does it and he retaliates? I bet I know. He goes to jail for ten years and she gets a lifetime of alimony on top of 75% of his net worth?

I've seen nothing but footage of police beating the fuck out of people, sorry. Brick and mortar is replaceable whether you like it or not. you literally could not go two sentences without contradicting yourself. tankies, man

Eeh, never is a strong word. There’s a difference between a widow raising her kids and someone who is irresponsible enough to have a child from a one night stand.

Don’t forget his wife tried to copyright his suicide note. She should be in jail for the rest of her life.

No, men almost never throw shit like this in other people’s faces. Neither do women. But relationships can bring out the worst in people, men and women, so an angry girlfriend bringing up a situation like this is the reason men don’t talk about things like this.

The bro-est of my bro friends wouldn’t make fun of someone for something like this. Relationship troubles bring out the worst in people.

So lets get this straight: Bernie Sanders is not a socialist, because he doesn't want to redistribute wealth. So Bernie Sanders, Jill Stein, Jeremy Corbyn, Merkel, etc are all rightists? You do understand that almost every political scientist disagrees with you, right? And you do understand that America's politics is farther right than other countries, so it makes sense for our political compass to be different? And you can be leftist without being a literal communist or being a neoliberal, righ…

Quran (4:11) - (Inheritance) "The male shall have the equal of the portion of two females" (see also verse 4:176) Quran (2:282) - (Court testimony) "And call to witness, from among your men, two witnesses. And if two men be not found then a man and two women." Quran (2:228) - "and the men are a degree above them [women]" Quran (2:223) - "Your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when or how ye will..." A man has dominion over his wives' bodies as he does his land. Quran (24:31) …

Because women just do have it worse. Study the Koran, which is the law in many of these countries, then you would understand.
/r/MensRights27/03/17 02:45 PM

I didn't say men didn't have it bad. He said women don't have it worse, which is empirically false.
/r/MensRights27/03/17 02:45 PM

Stop. This makes our movement look like a joke. In the Koran, there are hundreds of examples where women can't do this, can't do that. They can't drive cars or get jobs in some countries. They get killed for going to school. And of course they're rape rate looks low, under Sharia court it's extreme that common for rape victims to be sentenced to death just for reporting it. Things like this is why people see the men's rights movement as a joke.
/r/MensRights27/03/17 02:29 PM

Women do have it worse- in everywhere except America and Europe. I will never understand why these people fight an invisible "rape culture" or "patriarchy" when women are being forced to cover their faces or get raped in some Islamic countries, and people are murdered for their gender/sexuality. It's sad.

mfw people think raising the minimum wage will help minimum wage employees. Why do people like you not understand that raising the minimum wage will eventually raise the cost of food and everything else. It hurts minimum wage employees. This is coming from a minimum wage employee.

But the way he said "put an audio recorder in his jacket" makes it sound like he was recording a conversation he was not privy to. Essentially bugging his son. The argument you'd want to use is that the teacher has no reasonable expectation of privacy while teaching a class.
/r/MensRights08/01/16 01:38 PM

No, he was not privy to the conversation so he can't record it, unless you argued that his son was recording, which would be hard judging by the post.
