Vilar's "three states" is an oversimplification. Certainly the avoidance of marriage is avoidance of unhappiness, and may allow us to seek happiness in ways that situation would prevent us. Hedonism might be a motivating factor in MGTOW, but I don't think it's a necessity.

Yes, if you have a genuine change in outlook instead of using it as a crutch to lean on. MGTOW is a positive, forward-thinking philosophy that rejects gynocentrism. It's not that expensive if you do it right.
