I think that's part of the grey area with all situations like this. If you said no once, to some people that's not enough. But then how many times is enough? 2? 12? Some people think you should yell no, or strike the other person. The cut off for whether or not they made it clear enough is extremely ambiguous and open for interpretation.

Lol, I don't think feminism has " hating men" as a requirement. Some probably do, just like some people who dont call themselves feminists probably hate men. I don't think the two are necessarily tied together.

thats what I was thinking. It seems to me that as long as we as a culture operate under the idea that "no doesn't always mean no" that we're doing our part in promoting rape culture and victim blaming, instead of teaching people to accept no as an answer, especially from someone who is in one way or another unable to consent. Male or female, doesn't matter.

What is? That they could have tried harder?

I know that many women who have gone through similar situations describe the giving in as a self preservation thing. Kind of like its mentally easier for them at the time to give in than it is to push the person off of you over and over again and to deal with their reaction. I see it as a form of rape and I think that if the genders were reversed in the story that people would tell her it was rape. Do you?

How shitty is that? It seems like a huge double standard to me. I mean, perhaps women don't typically have the physical strength as a man, but the ability to be coerced or to feel victimized is the same. It isn't a gender specific thing at least.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
