I hope you took your dog. If he can be violent to an animal he can be violent to a person. That is a tough pill to swallow but it’s the truth and there are multiple studies to back it up. Leave for your safety and the safety of your dog.

It depends on where you live and it also depends on the separation agreement and how you decided to divide your assets in the divorce. My lawyer was thorough and I think he signed the legal documents he was served without reading them. I walked away with nothing and he also gets nothing from me. Get a good lawyer!

I have a horse and I do competitions with him, so training him and keeping myself fit takes up a lot of time. I was married to mine. I moved into a rental place when he was out of town so he wouldn’t know where I went. In the separation agreement my lawyer suggested a no contact clause. When he was served the divorce papers, he must have signed them without reading. He emailed me and I forwarded it to my lawyer who took care of it. Never heard from him again. It’s been blissful being free of his abuse and finding my happiness again.
