Do you live in Spain? Could you give insight to the vox party situation & the 2004 law that sparked this? One word can mean many things. Feminism means something negative for many people here but means something positive for others. To many being macho is a negative description.

My mother & her family we're victims of an abusive father who believed in "being a man" or "macho". He abused them physically & emotionally. He barely contributed to the household but expected to be waited on hand & foot when he came home. My grandmother suffered very much for years because she stayed with him because she was conditioned to stick by her man. My mother finally went to her home one day, helped to pack up her stuff & took her home with us. On contrast my father is not "machismo". M…

Catholicism in general gives men many privileges. As a resident of an area where Catholicism is the main religion I have experienced it myself. You can see the news & see all the priest that have gotten away with abusing their authority. They seem to be able to get away with gang rape even when on bragging about it & WhatsApp messages, link below. I've also attached an articled of a few more instances of men on women domestic violence that's been happening. It just show the underlying problems t…

A simple response would have been appreciated. Never did I throw around insults or use ugly language. I did see the photo & it does send the wrong message for those who can't read Spanish. The pant leg also has "Privileges" written in Spanish. Meaning that heterosexual men in Spain have privileges that other people don't have. Not surprising for a country with a history of Catholicism.

Yes, I do expect data, statistics, & experience. People here are making a claim that women are trying to destroy men then I need proof. I need actual cases & incidents. The same thing would happen if a woman came to me & claimed that a man tried to kill her. I would need proof. I also have yet to see anyone here try to combat this. You all sound like religious fanatics that claim the end is coming. As an athiest I would ask them "where is your proof"? & What are you going to do about it.

Why do you assume that I got this information from a gender studies professor? I am also not defending the women in the photo. While yes we need to combat machismo, which is more than likely what these women are talking about, I also think that these women are going about it the wrong way. People like you on this subreddit don't respond well to aggression. You resort to name calling, yelling, & assumptions. Unfortunately you are all not open to real discussion as to why some women feel this way.…

Do you have data & statistics to prove me wrong? Do you have personal experiences to prove me wrong at least? Because I can at least give you my personal experiences from when I was a young girl in a poor area where machismo is rampant as well as a woman in retail who has had to deal with customers of all kinds. I see a lot of complaints here but no real world examples (celebrities don't count, I don't count celebrity opinions as intelligent opinions) or date to back it up. Just a bunch of troll…

Maybe that's what it used to be before. Now being macho means "don't cry", "don't talk about your problems", "use your fists to solve problems", "suck it up", "men don't show their feelings", "men don't say 'I Love You' ". That's toxic masculinity. If we went back to original definition then we would ALL be better off.

I was just about to post this. Not Spaniard but Mexican descendent living in the U.S. "Macho" definitely means "toxic masculinity" here. It is a problem that plagues our culture in the border. It's gotten better but definitely still a problem.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
