Not appropriate, he is an MP, appropriate force would be calling security first; if she attacked physically THEN its concidered appropriate force, unless you feel in danger for your life you can't respond physically legally. Intent to do something illegal doesn't constitute grabbing up someone's neck, especially at an event with lots of security (who obviously did a shit job). He isn't trained to deal with situations like this like security are or the police and so it's not for him to respond to…

This is the UK, you literally can't attack someone entering your home. You have to use reasonable force, which is really hard to define, so you would have to verbally confront them first, asking them to leave, then if you feel threatened still, you can use reasonable force. We don't have guns, so you might have a bat or something, and if you only have a bat, but no ball, and don't ever use the bat for its sport its concidered a weapon and you get arrested. You can't legally defend yourself from a home intrusion so no. Especially as an MP, he knows the laws and he broke them even if you think he's in the right, you can't break laws and expect them to get away with it.
