Slow clap then. I hope she gets a nice settlement. I’m done with his fans lol and I’m shocked that I’m seeing this kind of post in FDS, which I consider to be a safe space.

I’m so TIRED of this take. They have a twenty three year age gap and he’s an alcoholic. Based on the fact that her previous relationship also had some domestic violence, I’m sure she’s not a saint but don’t tell me the alcoholic predator is blameless.

Funnily enough I was offered a post in Dallas but rejected it because of the abortion law, plus I was worried dating would be deeply impacted by a lot of very religious men. In my experience a lot of men here are “Catholic” but never go to church, which I’m fine with because I don’t either. I’m sorry you have to deal with FL men too, babe.

I think I’m wary of men I meet through common interests because of what they are for me specifically. I love dancing but you always see that recommended as a way for men to meet women in dating lists so I feel like they’re always… on the prowl? Yuck. Then there’s writing, and I’d rather die than be subjected to reading a man’s 5k word story about a regular guy having a string of one night stands as he struggles with his depression. Or something equally ridiculous. A lot of creative-minded men th…

Ordered the book, that looks very informative. Of course, the first link that pops up when you google the book is a libfem article about how for all the author’s research it’s blind to the fact that maybe lots of women don’t want to get married. Like yeah, but the ones that don’t want to get married tend to want men to leave them the fuck alone, they don’t want to be fwb with a scrote and the pickmes need to stop implying otherwise. I’ll be looking into tech hubs, I think.

Never realized the vitriol I’d get when I posted this but I’m getting messages cussing me out in Spanish, which only proves my point so… We’re onto something here lmao. I do have country/race/ethnicity loyalty but I only stan women. Men need to prove themselves because they’re often violent and certainly think they’re entitled to “their” women.

Don’t move off the app before you meet him. Make it a point to tell him you don’t do it before date 1, period, and if he pushes you then you know he doesn’t care to respect even the smallest of boundaries.

I was so ready to fight you until I saw the S. I get told this so often. The difference is women consent to wearing bikinis in public and not everyone is comfortable wearing them. But men think I’m crazy when I point this out.

I feel like this is something that gets brought up every three months. A mod literally had to make a post saying OLD isn’t against FDS last time. I get why you think it’s a cesspool but OLD allows for volume which means you can roster date and don’t get attached. It’s your responsibility to vet.

I did think of them wanting to hide the app from a girlfriend but then what’s the point of unmatching after getting the phone number? They could have just turned their notifications off if wanting to hide from a gf. My best guess is that they wanted the phone number for sexting and then unmatched because they didn’t want a girl checking their profile to catch them in lies/see their location changing, meaning how often they’re checking it and talking to someone else.

Back when I first started OLD, I found men were very eager to get off the app and I wasn’t happy with that. I asked about it on the Bumble sub and not surprisingly people were like “??? not weird at all for them to do that! paranoid much.” So I started giving guys my phone # early, then had the worst experiences ever. I had two different guys pull the whole get-phone-then-unmatch and the moment I noticed the second one did it, I cut him off. I don’t know WHY it’s such a red flag, but it definite…

I once almost got on a boat with a boyfriend I’d recently gotten exclusive with but hadn’t had sex with. He assured me it would be a double date but as soon as I told my aunt, she told me it was a bad idea. I understand what you’re saying about coercion, but I don’t think this happens often in the western world. And men baby-trapping women is a huge issue, but these men shouldn’t be given access to sex in the first place. That’s on the women who let them through in the first place. Vetting for misogyny and abusive tendencies is a lot harder than vetting men for being broke. That’s the easy part because a man who won’t spend money on a woman he’s pursuing is either broke, stingy or not interested, a…

I also think it depends on what kind of Catholic people are. My mom prays every night and carries a rosary around… and yet when her husband abused her, she divorced his ass and went to a fancy sperm bank to have kids even though this is forbidden for Catholics. Did she care? No, she really didn’t. Religion is to be cherry-picked. You take what you like, you ignore what you don’t.

Daenerys Targaryen is an example of a HVW who built herself up only to let LVM and pickmes use her, gaslight her and kill her. I actually bring up the Game of Thrones ending in date one to judge if the man I’m with is a closet misogynist. Always works because they argue with me, and then I know they’d try to use me and gaslight me and might even kill me if I let them.

Everything about this is horrifying and honestly puts me off having children because I don’t think I’d endure all that and not become an angry person. That being said, I don’t understand why you called him when that stranger knocked on your door and expected him to help. Not off-topic at all! This might be controversial but I don’t think group therapy or couple therapy is beneficial to anyone but the abuser. Those types of therapy focus on reconciliation but let’s be real, the stigma around mental health is strong. If a family or a couple actually have an issue that’s fixable, they’ll figure it out on their own. If they go so far as to need joint therapy, there’s someone breaking boundaries and someone compromising way too much. That’s not going to get fixed by …

Right? There’s a chance they’re a pick me but I think it’s the lesser of two evils. Men will see things from their POV but some women will understand. Overall, your chances of finding a good therapist increase if you look into women.

Sidenote but does anyone else feel sick when they see that “married to my 5”5 king while you’re chasing a 6”2 alcoholic” tweet? The problem is that short men have less options than tall men and should THEORETICALLY behave better but instead they have chips on their shoulders and it’s all the same. So why not go for tall?

Oof, I feel for you. It’s hard fighting the misogyny when you understand the culture and know the language, but I can only imagine how he made you feel. Every concern you had would have been blamed on the woman not “understanding” how things should be lmao. I straight up laughed at impregnating someone without marrying them being made illegal. Back in ye olden times, having a child out of wedlock brought serious consequences (for the woman, at least) and honestly I think we should bring that back to a degree. So many women fail to understand that marriage is for our own safety and security, and it’s just sad. Immediately when I heard the news, I felt bad for Grimes because welp, she had this child with this ridiculous name… and now that they’re bre…

This is borderline pickmeisha. The posts aren’t about being negative, they’re about instilling a shift in the way we think. It’s not that LVM are the exception, it’s that HVM are unicorns and MOST men are depraved. Women need to quickly identify red flags and LVM behavior quickly for our safety, and the posts show us what that looks like. For me, personally, they’ve made me more comfortable with not making up excuses for men and sticking to my boundaries.

The whole situation is awful for Anna but you know what? The divorce means she no longer has to deal with putting up with a man who derailed his life in the past year. Do some women just go into pregnancy blind to the strain it’s going to put on their bodies and finances? This woman went into it without discussing with her SO the fact that she’d be the only one dealing with the physical burden of pregnancy, to say nothing of the way it might affect her health in the future? She shouldn’t have to pay for anything if she’s the one actually carrying. I pity the child, to have such a selfish father and a scatterbrained mother.

Two million for a family that’s used to a $330k/yr standard of living is nothing. Affluent couples have affluent friends. “Oh, you’re not sending your kids to this private school that costs $30k a year? What about sport/music/language lessons?” In between private school, extracurriculars, eight years of college and the down payment and closing costs for each kid’s first house, that’s the two million gone when accounting for inflation. This was my thought as well. It’s a basic thing. She would be paying for everything, the least he could do is cover taxes. The fact that he thinks if he pays for taxes it’s as if he’s paying for the mortgage is ridiculous. When you buy a cake, do you only pay the taxes and expect someone else to cover the actual cost? NO. If you want to do that, don’t expect to eat the cake.

Did it occur to anyone in that household to put the statue in the basement under a sheet? That way the wife wouldn’t have had to deal with it staring her in the face and he could still keep his art. Of course, it doesn’t sound like the husband would have gone along with that but it threw me that she doesn’t mention this at all. Also, her therapist is so obviously a man.

The irony of it is that if men spent as much time/money grooming themselves as the average woman, they wouldn’t have nearly as many issues. But NO, they want to look like a shriveled potato, have no personality, put no effort, and still want to date a submissive supermodel that will pay the mortgage and keep the house clean at once.

By your criteria, would places like NYC fit? High number of affluent men and high number of libfems. But in my experience New York is the epitome of sorting through trash to strike gold. I found that the libfems actually lowered the bar so much for the men it was impossible to find someone pasable. Hypothetically, wouldn’t the dating scene be better in a place with a lot of affluent men and not as many pickmes?
