My in laws basically dropped me after 20 years and only listened to their daughters version of events. I hate them, because they are cowards. Instead of seeking the truth they took one side of the story and dismissed the person they knew completely. I have supported them financially, bought them cars and took them on vacations. I guess it's better to find out people are two faced sooner than later but it makes it difficult to trust people ever again.

I appreciate you sharing the raw details, so much of it resonates with me at the moment with it's similarities. I don't have kids and the idle time I do have now is my worst enemy. Just wanted to let you know that you are not alone, I'm in the exact same situation and in my 30s. I work, exercise and then come back to my apt alone. The biggest thing to get use to is just the lack of touch and having someone to talk to. Tempted to fill that void with alcohol or random hookups but have so far been able to avoid it. Take care of yourself!
