| 2 | No two boys together....Typical, part of good classroom management is prevention. Fact: boys (not all, of course) are more inclined to goof off when they are near one another. Solution, arrange seating in a way that prevents this. I have as many hands on lessons in class as I can, but inevitably there will be times where quiet listening is necessary. Boys are also quite capable of this, believe it or not. I see nothing wrong with arranging seating in a way that prevents disruption. | 1 | No two boys together....I am a male elementary school teacher and I will frequently prevent boys from sitting near each other. My experience is that boys do tend to be more disruptive during class if allowed to sit near their friends, whereas girls are more inclined to listen. | 2 | When my wife and I retire in a few years we had always wanted to do volunteer work of some kind with children. But after many stories about false accusations this is the one that finally conviced us it is too dangerous to be around kids.I volunteer at a children's home/school where I currently live and another one in Mexico (sponsor a kid there). I consider my experiences at these places to be among the most fulfilling I've had in my life so far. There are kids out there that really need someone to just spend some time with them, give them some attention.
