I've seen multiple therapists before, during, and after my marriage to a LVM that was a proven and consistent liar. Not ONCE did someone look at me and say "He doesn't respect you. One of the smartest decisions I made when I was married was tell my ex-husband that we should not even think about children until 5 years after we got married to a) actually enjoy each other's company and b) by that time we would be financially secure and stable. Yes! This happened to me as well - I found out everybody thought I was a bitch for not letting him do anything. It made me realize how little integrity he had - I've never had a problem saying "No thanks, I'm not interested in hanging out today," is it really that hard to politely decline?
