so what are the hopes for good fathers out there in the world where this system is designed against them? we all know it, but what are the steps moving forward to reform or dismantle this system?

I get it, this is just not pragmatic, depending on how long you were in that relationship with your partner.

i long lost faith in the justice system as a whole, let alone family court. it's a full blown racquet against good men to their children.

this is the shit that really breaks my heart. damn brother, i hope you and your child's relationship gets better with time. just continue to be there for her emotionally, continue to be a bedrock of mentorship, and remind her that she's always safe in your care. those are the things that you can control. everything else will hopefully fall into place as your child ages.

uhhmmm, if both sides can't get thrown off the cliff, then no reason to get aggressive with only the man. and since this modern world will frown upon actual justice, better leave it to the "attorneys"

it doesn't play out that way for the woman outside of karma (cosmic law) in most cases

this. in a common law state, cohabiting with your gf is just as much of a binding agreement between two parties as much as an official marriage license ONCE you two have a bill together in both names. so...you can visit each other as often as you wish, just do not move in to her place and vice versa until you're absolutely sure on settling down.

As SOON as you hear: "Listen...I don't know who you were with in the past, but I'm not like these other...." Uhmmm, yea....bye. Don't even finish your sentence. That, fellas, is an immediate yellow flag. Hell, it may even be a red one.

i get where you're coming from, but this is his story (OPs) and it's not as simple as "people are assholes, get over it". what kind if disconnected bs is that to say to someone sharing their experience??

You're definitely not alone, my scenario is eerily similar to yours and we're still very much in the early stages of our separation.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
