| 2 | Average?I think the main issue is that they conflate ideas which lead to a confusion on what 'average' is. Rating/10 is too subjective and there is no agreed upon convention. The most common assumption I see is that the rating score would follow a normal distribution, therefore mean is the average. So people just try to fit their samples into this bell-curve.
