Would you consider him buying you a kitchen aid mixer adding value to his life? Because you can make desserts for him? So you could also give value to him by wearing an expensive dress he buys for you because he likes the way it looks on you. Just as much as he would like a muffin.

Ask yourself, is it more important to eat at the most expensive restaurant, or to invest money in things that bring you closer, such as vacations or activities that you enjoy? So... you're saying we still need money either way

THIS. I used to watch the flash dance wedding proposals and thought it was sooo cute, but then I realized that it is just a way to use pressure to make a women accept a situation that she may not want.
