While it's common and accepted by many, the basically principle of demeaning someone because of their cultural heritage is a symptom of a mind that can't see our unity... so, no, it's not ok to be racist against whites. It's right to call out toxic behaviour, but not to judge a person because of the colour of their skin

Having just witnessed the shitstorm that is r/GenderCritical, where so many comments are made as blanket statements assuming a certain ubiquity of truth in the words, I'm now especially wary of general statements that imply "all men or "all women", because while there are certain trusims regarding gender, it really doesn't do justice to the multiplicity of scenarios that play out all over the place, many of which are totally contradictory to what is assumed as the all pervasive norms. These kind…

Are you only referring to radical feminists? I don't think that the notion that all men are toxic by nature is held by most feminists. I think, let’s just not assume anymore, and instead let’s work to level up our communication

"How do you feel about this?", "Do you LIKE this?" or "What would you like?" are questions that allow consent to be given, without it feeling clunky or like they're being asked for permission to do something tolerable, rather than desirable. I feel that, while the original meme comes off as condescending, and dismissive of deliberate effort to check in and gain consent, perhaps it's more a comment on the fact that the way the questions being asked as more like someone trying to checklist it, rat…

i've always been a fan of AOC, and this is the first time I've seen her write/say something that didn't grasp the greater nuances of a situation
