Oh this is exactly the technique I’ve been using! I haven’t used negativity towards his friends or group outings yet…I’m trying to avoid it but he seems to believe that if I spend more time with the other family, then I will simply begin to enjoy it I haven’t been scheduling enough activities for myself but that’s what I’ll work on for sure. A lot of my hobbies are spent at home or near home so I’m looking for some I can do in the evenings

Keep us updated on how it goes, I can’t offer advice but can understand not wanting to be a “maybe” to a forever partner. We’re thinking of you!

Honestly this was initially how I felt when I realized what my fiancés social schedule is this….involved with her family. I kept gaslighting myself to think it was normal for a group of extroverts/staff who are friends and trusted he must know what he is doing considering they’ve had these connections for so long. My fiancé owns this company with some other small businesses which is a subsidy of an international company. His friend will take partial ownership and has worked with him for almost a…

Thank you. I like this idea, and it’s something I need to work on too (I’m naturally not very chatty and a little shy). When she is hosting I usually stay in the kitchen and help cook/clean as much as possible. As I’m reading through my own recall of these events I realize what I want to happen (if I can’t simply remove/ignore this relationship with her), and ideally I would have a distanced but amicable relationship, and my fiancé would feel that natural inclination to protect me without thinki…

Her husband is pretty quiet, unless he is engaged on work talk he doesn’t join many of the conversations (watches TV when they are hosting), then FBF talks to my fiancé…they have been friends the longest. I overheard her husband make one comment a few months ago (“get over it, it’s just dinner”) after she told him she doesn’t want to sit beside me, and went to sit between my fiancé and her kids instead. She had one of the kids give the card over the holidays and my fiancé had them read it out lo…

A lot of the meetings are just the 4 of us, usually her kids and another staff. She’s been a close friend of my fiancé since school and how many of the other friends met. I get along well with the other women and I’m pretty close with 2, but they are not usually there. Once another wife in the group defended me (for something minor she said, and my fiancé heard but ignored, probably to avoid drama). Fiancé doesn’t make comments about her directly, when we leave for the night he thanks me for “le…

I totally agree, and thanks so much for reading. I did mention to him that I wanted a “break from socializing” a few times without mentioning my specific issue with her. He understood a little then suggested I invite her to a spa while the guys do meetings because it’s “really important” to him that we get along, which I did and she was on instagram the entire time (I made some awkwardly weak small talk). After, she told about a work trip with them overseas, when the borders open. I asked my fia…

Holy grail right now is definitely the Ninja blender! I had a vitamix before and the dual blade on the ninja could probably blend anything, I haven’t experienced a single food it can’t blend (I’ve made flour, crushed ice, coffee into powder). There is a dough and food processing attachment as well. I’m buying it for my sisters wedding gift.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
