Make sure you are your #1 priority. Don’t let anybody interfere with or distract you from what you are trying to achieve. Focus on yourself, and anybody that doesn’t compliment your growth is simply crippling it.

That’s not the kind of “transaction” you have been referring to this entire conversation, until now. Which is why I said “in the sense you are referring to”. You’re actively over simplifying, twisting words, and completely ignoring certain points I’ve made in order to justify treating women as prey instead of people. This is the end of the effort I’m interested in investing in a conversation with someone who wants to ARGUE about why it’s important to treat others with respect and dignity. Good l…

I’m not really seeing where you interpret it as a double standard. If you make no effort to get to know the person you’re talking to, before trying to sleep with them, you also “did nothing”. If you just happened to stumble upon a woman who is willing and ready right away, they probably would have slept with anyone. It has nothing to do with you “winning” anything. And treating ALL women as though they’re going to be that one, when the VAST majority of women have been very vocal about how much t…

That’s not what I said, and you oversimplifying to support your own argument doesn’t discredit the sentiment. If it’s acceptable of you to immediately jump straight to trying to sleep with the girl you’ve only just introduced yourself to, is it also acceptable of her to expect you to immediately provide her your credit card to pay her bills, or say - cover the tab at whatever bar or restaurant you’ve approached her in, whether you find chemistry in said interaction or not? Because that’s what th…

There is a time and place for everything. Jumping straight to “how quickly can I get my d*ck wet” after introducing yourself is disrespectful. Hire a sex worker if this is how you’d like your interactions with women to play out right from the start.

Absolutely.

I agree. I have often used that excuse even when it wasn’t true. I just wish there was more respect in these interactions and women weren’t required to do so much emotional labor (especially for strangers) just to protect mens egos. Women are misled and rejected all the time, usually in much more hurtful ways than a simple direct statement right from the jump that reserves the time and energy of both parties. I don’t understand why it’s so socially acceptable and even encouraged to coddle men ju…

Honest question, I’m not trying to be argumentative, but why isn’t a simple “I’m not interested” good enough? Why do some men feel they are entitled to an explanation from a complete stranger? I’m not saying women should be callous about it, but I also don’t feel like I should have to explain myself to someone I don’t even know just because I’m not interested in their advances.

The issue isn’t being approached, it’s being treated like prey. A lot of men “test” women to see how willing she is to indulge their interest in sleeping with them, before they decide how much they will respect her. It’s predatory. Being approached by someone who is respectful, whether the woman is interested or not, isn’t the issue. The issue is being approached by someone who wants to see how quickly they can get your pants off, before they’ll consider treating you like a person.

Do you like dogs? Start taking shelter dogs to the dog park. Girls with dogs have to have at least a basic amount of responsibility and self sustaining income (in order to take care of their pup), and are often active and adventurous - especially at your age. You really have to be a “dog person” for this to work though. If you feel even mildly inconvenienced by dogs and the attention they require, do not date a woman with dogs. She will not care how you feel, and the relationship will end very b…

Well of course you’re going to get more attention when you’re looking your best. We all do; but that’s an entirely different conversation.

Yes! I would! If you read through any of the comments on this post, you’ll see that women are all saying the same thing - we avoid eye contact because men don’t know how to have a genuine conversation and wanna jump straight to “what’s it going to take for me to get into your pants”, and having that conversation several times a day, every day, is exhausting. Whether we think you’re attractive or not. So yes, I agree. If you’re unable to engage someone outside of flirting with them right off the …

I’ve got a novel idea y’all! Have you ever tried… Drumroll please… Casual conversation instead of flirting?!

This is… just so false… there are a billion attractive men in the world. It is beyond exhausting to CONSTANTLY be hit on, and pretend like you’re flattered, even though you heard and were expected to positively respond to the exact same thing a thousand times the day before, and will again be expected to respond a thousand more times the day following. Can you imagine having the exact same conversation, several times a day, every day? At what point would you just start avoiding everyone who migh…

As a 29F, I can confirm I am uncomfortable making eye contact with men in general. I’d say the percentage of men who actually become creepy or harass me is pretty small, but the number of men who want to flirt to some degree is overwhelming; so I have to say this - even if you are an all around GOOD PERSON, if the only time you engage strangers of your preferred sexual orientation is to flirt with them - you are part of the problem. I do not have the emotional bandwidth to flirt - even innocentl…

I agree. Without moderation, these will lead you right into “f••kboy” territory.

29f here. Unless you’re interested in skipping the honeymoon stage and jumping straight into “building a life together” and domestic responsibility, then I absolutely expect to be “chased”. It’s part of the excitement of dating someone new.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
