I am curious, why didn't you originally ask her if she was finished with them?

Plenty of people paint themselves in the best possible light when talking with their friends. It isn't that they think that, it's that not many people are willing to admit their own culpability to others. So, if shes putting on weight maybe she'll tell her friends that it's her damn lazy husbands fault. She knows it isn't, but it's easier to blame him than take accountability in front of her friends. Men do the same thing.

The more we teach our kids that everyone is equal the better the chances of the world they grow up in seeing them as equal. Will it be perfect for our kids? No, but it will be better than when we were kids. And our grand kids will be even better than that.

I think all of those people miss the point of the common advice to not dress provocatively etc. It isn't saying that men can't control themselves so watch out. It is saying that if you find yourself somewhere that a rapist is looking for a victim by standing out you make yourself more of a target. That doesn't make it the victims fault either, it is the rapists fault. But it also doesn't imply that any man can't control himself. It is all about avoiding catching the eye of an actual rapist, not …

Yeah I don't like the wording of that one. It does not explain that very well; rather than explaining the emotions a boy is going through it makes it sound like every man is really a violent person who represses that initial feeling. That really isn't the case at all. I think some of this comes from the fact that guys aren't supposed to express their emotions and as a result aren't equipped to handle them. So sometimes that leads to frustration and a need to physically get that frustration out. …

Yeah I think the original ad needs to be taken in context. With all of the gang rapes and exposure of the lack of respect of women in general in India it makes sense. You can't really start from a position of "respect women who earn it" when the culture as a whole devalues women because they are women. The original ad makes sense.

The one that irked me was: Remedy: Over the next two weeks as you start experiencing more intimacy, consider making yourself available for sex at least once a week in support of your mutual goal of connecting. Make yourself available for sex? How about initiate sex, or start letting yourself love sex, or stop using sex as a tool to get what you want. Make yourself available for sex really just sounds like another method of control: "ok honey, I will let you fuck me now..."

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
