She's mentally ill in my mind. The sort of delusion to be in the marines, know what violence is, and still enter a ring with someone who is much much much more powerful than you is fucked up. She didn't even know how to box. She didnt protect herself in the slightest. In short, she's nuts.

I reckon there are two ways to make it fair: 1) Men pay less for monthly membership, pro-rated to subtract the hours they are not welcome to use facilities. 2)An equal amount and accessibility of mens-only hours are allotted so that men and women pay the same for equal service. The gym shouldn't be forced to do that, but if they don't, I think dudes should go to another gym, because they're getting ripped off.

The "pussy doesn't define you" part is a riff off Patrice O Neal too. However when Patrice said it it made total sense.

Your typography skills are horrible. I mean horrible. You've centered the text, but the width of the paragraph is so wide relative to your type size that the line is completely lost. You've paid no attention to reduce orphans, you have an entire CENTERED line with just one word: "forever." "Forever" is how long I would sentence you to jail for for the crime of shitty typography. Do you want to spread your message or give me a stroke? Please, please. Left justify it. Increase the line height relat…

I agree with you man. I don't want her in that position or anything BASED ON WHAT I SAW on a video. Ok? I agree. But this mob justice "I saw a Youtube now you lose your job" is part of the reason I am in this sub to begin with. I don't like it. I find it fascist and I think it's a huge weapon for authoritarian dickheads in 2015. USUALLY that's feminists. They usually use this weapon to bring down someone who said something that disagrees with them. So now a feminist is being hoisted on that peta…

A lesson in free speech. You can say what you want but people are going to judge you for it. I hate this argument and I hate how it is used to justify mob behavior. I hate it when it is used because someone told an off-color joke, and then suddenly the whole world wants to dismantle their life and their living. I'm a hypocrite if I hate this when it happens to people I agree with but not when it happens to dipshit feminist professors. Why do people celebrate setting society up as some sort of fa…

Look through all arguments about whatever this is about aside for a second. It's irrelevant. You can't treat media like this. This is purely authoritarian. This is the sort of shit you see in third world dictatorships, where somehow ideology is SO FUCKING FRAGILE that it can't be exposed to the light of day or the lens of a camera. Fuck these people. Fuck anyone who acts like that. Good on the photographer for going in there to do his job.

Hello. I am 30 and so I have been through the dating scene. I am married now to a nice woman, who for the most part is very good to me and is a strong, solid partner. If I think back to when I was 13, I also faced a lot of anxiety. I would wake up at night worried about someday going to college, dating, about what I was going to do when I left my parents house, how to make money, etc. Some of my fears turned out accurate, but most didn't. The ones that were accurate are more interesting to tell …

http://www.cirp.org/library/cultural/maimonides/ Interesting link. Quoted below: Similarly with regard to circumcision, one of the reasons for it is, in my opinion, the wish to bring about a decrease in sexual intercourse and a weakening of the organ in question, so that this activity be diminished and the organ be in as quiet a state as possible. ... Interesting, I didn't know that. How is it viewed nowadays? I understood that Maimonides was a very common reference point in terms of jurisprudence and so on. I guess they don't necessarily need to debate the reasoning so long as the ritual remains in place.

That was also the original motivation in the US. Not so with Jews and Muslims but in the US it was done for precisely that reason: to stop men from easily masturbating.

Hey watch this. The woman is clearly strongly feminist and she goes on to make really weak arguments in FAVOR of male circumcision for no real reason. This is exactly what I saw. Basically I think the agenda is that FGM is so awful in comparison that male circumcision is actually a good thing! Also watch how it gets derailed at the end by the guy saying "I'm glad I am circumcised because otherwise I'd have HIV!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-HfJNzhS18

how do "Genetics" disprove the point that evolution produces successful organisms? We don't live to be 500 years old? That's a good thing from an evolutionary point of view. The idea that humans can improve upon natural selection is the height of hubris in my view.

Most were saying that the comparison was insulting. Now, the only reason I made the comparison was to hold them to a certain standard. I have a sensitivity about neo-colonialist thinking. So when the "educated empowered white person" tells the "backwards uneducated brown person" how to live, and which of their customs are stupid, I tend to remind the white people that their customs are kind of dumb too. It's like the saying: "Before you remove the speck from your brother's eye, first remove the …

The main thing is that feminists tend to be heavily opposed to FGM. I tend to agree despite the fact that it seems sort of neo-colonialist to me. However when MGM (circumcision) is brought up as a complicating point, they usually (anecdotal evidence here) become very shrill about the fact that the two procedures are not at all comparable. One is a barbaric practice on par with stoning whereas the other is a cleanliness aesthetic issue on par with getting a haircut.

I'll quote Kurt Vonnegut: Don't use semi-colons! They are transvestite hermaphrodites, representing exactly nothing. All they do is suggest you might have gone to college.

I share your reaction but I find it curious that many who have this reaction are totally willing to accept the removal of skin from the penis so that the sensitive glans are rubbing all day against dry fabric. The goal of male circumcision in the United States was originally to prevent masturbation. What does it say about that society that the practice continues into the modern day? What does it say about their attitude towards male sexuality?

You know what I agree with you. It isn't right to legally ban it. Some people would do it anyway for legal reasons. I am more in favor of just making the point that it is cruel to do it just for aesthetic reasons, and make mockery of people who aren't circumcised be seen as ridiculous as it really is. Even in this thread, in mensrights of all places, I see "ant-eater dick" and similar insults. If you look at my comparison above, how backwards and tribal do people look who mock women with labia? …

I agree that taking the clit is not like taking the penis. If you take the penis, you take away the ability to copulate. Taking the clit only takes the ability to make sex pleasurable. What it reveals is a society that doesn't care about female sexuality, or finds it threatening. That is why it is considered in the West to be bad. However a lot of research also shows that male circumcision does the same. It also makes it harder to masturbate. So we might wonder what this practice reveals about t…

I have posted this in a few threads on the topic and typically I am told I am full of shit. However, this is true: I live in Egypt. My wife is not circumcised, but somewhere between 70-85% of women are. This practice is known outside Africa as "FGM." Inside areas it is done, it is called circumcision and it is normal. I listened to a long conversation once between my wife and several women who had it done. To them it is completely normal to have their vaginas trimmed. Some of the labia is remove…

You know that in most of the world men are not circumcised and only a small minority must face this procedure for medical reasons? Likewise some people must have their appendix removed later in life, but we don't pre-emptively edit babies to remove that.

I live in Egypt and every day I meet women who are happy that they are circumcised. They don't see the point of having a clit and think it is cleaner. Absolutely serious, by the way. Also the edit to your comment is in very poor taste. It's simple ad hominem and doesn't convince me in any way.

90% of talent is practice. Working hard to get good at something (or make money) is not the same as being born rich and never working to improve yourself in any way. Hence why these guys would be nothing if their money was taken, whereas someone with skills would be fine, and would simply make more money.
/r/TheRedPill01/12/14 11:24 AM
9

I disagree I think it brings weakness. Putting money on a pedestal is stupid the same way it's stupid to put women on one. Money is a tool, but without a logic and a passion and skills, you'll just waste it, you'll attract people who want to waste it, and you will not accomplish anything except for spending money.
/r/TheRedPill01/12/14 07:59 AM
7

Not so. If you are incredibly talented, and you have all your money stolen, you will earn it back. If you are a born-rich nothing, who has relied on servants and people kissing ass your whole life, and you lose your money, you are fucked. I know this because I live in the Middle East, know a lot of these rich guys, and have seen how some of them live. When they go out they are big shots, but they literally can't make a bed, cook an egg, or take out the trash. Basically just human parasites.

I get your point but trials for ideas might see a bunch of US on trial one day. What really should happen is that the guy should sue her into the stone age. If that's not possible, it should be. Once it is shown that she willfully lied and used the law to attack him, she should be liable for massive amounts of money. She damaged his future earning potential and almost surely scared him half to death.

More like millennia. However, we got rid of gender roles, and everyone is equal now, so it is right and good to praise fathers who care for little ones, just like it is right and good to praise women who work hard and come up with ways to make life better. Just because men were inventing and working for millennia doesn't mean that we can't support women who now choose to do the same in our open society.

There are a lot of really good points on the tumblr too. The Feminists purposefully chose the most conventionally beautiful women and the ones that made "MRA-sounding" arguments in order to make the points you raised above. I think it is technically a 3% failure rate. The issue, however (and something I had clarified for me during the discussion mentioned above) is that Birth Control can interact with other drugs, even antibiotics, and these interactions create risk. Thus, I bump it up to about 5% when discussing it to factor that in. My understanding is that Birth Control stops a woman from ovulating, but the body is designed to procreate, and so even a very good solution will have a failure rate. As we learned in…

For the record, I am married. This is about equal rights not about my level of success with women. There are also gay and female men's rights activists who aren't at all interested in female sexual companions. Her argument is meaningless.

Sounds like you have some defriending to do. I think you presented yourself in a calm, logical manner, and you got called a faggot and a girl. I don't understand how using these terms as an insult is a step towards gender equality.

Yeah but even violent overthrow doesn't get rid of it. I mean you do a violent overthrow, and then a few years later more assholes come in and give you the same bullshit. The only answer is to stand up for yourself and your family and be a strong person, and stop asking for people to feel bad for you or to take it easy on you.

No of course not I respect my mom and sister and also my wife. I do think Egypt is misogynistic though because my wife and sister get harassed in the street by men who leer at them or touch them or call out to them, and this is a really bad situation. To be perfectly honest as a man I am fine in the street, but women get harassed. I don't think the burqa is misogynistic as I actually think it is usually a choice (same with hijab) and I don't believe when people say those women are brainwashed.

I think the only thing that rolls it back is reality. I mean, war or starvation. It has been more than a generation now since anything really tremendously bad happened in America, and really it hasn't been a full on major calamity since the Civil War. I think war and the proximately of war will dramatically change your view on life and reorient you towards reality in which your only job or pride is being alive, and you would never ask to be a victim, because you know what a real victim is. They'…

I also find this to be weird. I live in Egypt, which is accused a lot of being a very misogynistic place. I mean, it is in many ways. The thing is here I meet a lot of people from Africa, Sudan especially, who have been brutally raped in a wartime setting, and it is truly horrific and horrible. And then I come on reddit and read threads where people try to tell me that if a man and woman have sex, then afterwards decide it was a bad idea, or they were a little drunk and regret it, they were rape…

I understand that you feel that way, and I can understand that feeling as well. I'm not arguing that that impulse to admire the "platonic" beauty of a human body doesn't exist. It certainly does. However, I don't think that that impulse is at the heart of why these people are famous. If that were the case, then advertising would be full of beautiful platonic images of strong spiritual men and women. They'll canabalize anything that "works," or that spreads and makes ideas viral. What they use co…

They aren't really objectifying their bodies so much as exercising their freedom (from clothes, in this case) and using their bodies to convey the message that they are, in fact, more than sex objects. Wait what? This is such a spurious argument. The "sex object" nature of their bodies is the only reason they are famous, because they are extremely hot women showing off their nude bodies for attention. I'm not saying they don't have the right to do it or that it is disgusting or anything, but the…

In my mind the nudity of sexually attractive people is sexual. That's why the campaign works, because it uses sexual energy to spread a message. I would argue that they are capitalizing on the fact that women are objectified in order to prove a point. In advertising this is called "cultural fuel," and it is the same reason why there are many many websites full of nude photos of attractive women. Saying that they aren't trying to be sexual is disingenuous, because it is exactly the point.

edit: Oh yeah this is r/mra. Fuck women! Stupid controlling bitches! In regards to your edit: My post didn't mention anyone's gender. If it was a dude giving me the same gift I would feel the exact same way. Anyone who tries to track me is a stupid controlling bitch, regardless of their sex. Can you point to anything in my post that would justify your edit, or are you just talking shit?

It doesn't have to do with the gender of the individual doing the fucked up act. The only role gender plays is in the law that governs their contract. If OP's privacy has been violated by an INDIVIDUAL who is nuts, he is still liable to shell out 50% of what he makes for a very long time just to regain his dignity. I don't think that the actions of an individual and the differences of gender according to the law should be conflated.

Sometimes it feels like getting married signs you up to live with your own personal Hitler. Most times I can't even get mad about government privacy abuses and affronts to my dignity because they are much more likely to come from my spouse.

I think if you're going to make that claim you need more examples to back it up that encompass both reddit and non-reddit. As it is you have one anecdote, and I don't think that succeeds in making a complete case.

Sir or Madame: I never insinuated any dick sucking. I can tell this is going to be a highly professional report. I'm not a big Mens Rights person but I do look at the sub-reddit to stay informed. Regardless, I think if you come here as an academic you should honor that basic contract between yourself and your subjects by trying to stay impartial, if only in appearances. Please note this in your footnotes that sidewalkchalked objected to your methodology on the 19th of October.

It must be a strange concept to women, who are used to believing and supporting anyone else with a pair of tits and a vagina, but we do it differently in the male world. This is an ironic statement. The user is attempting to demonstrate that men are rational whereas women are not. By resorting to a blatantly stereotypical statement to prove his point, he has actually disproved it. If you want to tease women, please do so in a way that moves the discussion forward, or is at least funny. Otherwise…

Well, it sort of sheds some light on the simplicity of the "equality" argument. Same thing goes for the military draft. I don't think society will ever get to the point of equality because it isn't biologically possible. We have to work more to understand both genders and what needs they have, as well as how to handle cases in which the individual doesn't conform to those norms. For example, what if you have a transgender person who wanted to ply field hockey?

She should read Mary Daly, btw. *Here's a quote off Wikipedia: * "If life is to survive on this planet, there must be a decontamination of the Earth. I think this will be accompanied by an evolutionary process that will result in a drastic reduction of the population of males." OP, I'd like your thoughts on this. If we're taking the language that academics use into consideration for the sanity of MR, Mary Daly should come up. She is a well-respected (if controversial) theologian, and in Religiou…

I disagree. You guys have a problem with feminists because they only care about women and figure it must always be the man's fault if he is screwed or they figure the patriarchal society will sort it out. You have the same attitude. "She's a woman so they'll fix it." Many cases I read about about family law injustice do seem to leave the guy holding the short end of the stick, but that doesn't mean women aren't also getting screwed. If she has a legit complaint, she needs support, just as we'd e…

That is the worst reporting I have ever seen (nearly). They act as if the guy stole the money, but it was clearly granted to him as a result of an event after their divorce. In that light the judge's decision seems totally legitimate, yet the "reporter" saves the "details" for the last sentence. Next we'll see the headline: "Man drops wife's favorite vase in thoughtless move" that doesn't mention that he dropped the vase because he was cleaning it when the wife set the house on fire to kill him.…

Right. But let's ignore that and instead insist that other countries change their practices. I live in Egypt, and I would have no problem with Westerners that get all up in Egypt's business about "Female Genital Mutilation" if they only called a spade a spade, and changed the American term to Male Genital Mutilation.

Of course, statistically speaking, men conducted this research, and funded the vast majority of it. Men invented the techniques that were used and provided the majority of the theoretical preparation for this achievement. Men organized the majority of systems that enable food to be distributed efficiently enough to devote research to science, and led the society from which this research emerged. They also, you know, invented computers, the internet, founded the BBC, and allowed for this discussi…
