From what I read about Margaret Somerville she is against same sex marriage. Dr. Fiamengo's views aren't necessarily the same as Margaret Somerville's, but I definitely disagree with her on that.

I was there also, came in with my girlfriend and another female friend. Apparently that seemed quite suspicious, because when we arrived we were told they were at capacity. After talking to someone for a bit about myself we were let in. As we were going in a couple of girls were talking about how they had been pushed and how they wanted to file a police report. Really interested in seeing the recordings...and damn, everyone during the Q&A was SO full of rage.

The problem in your story isn't only a problem with religion and multiculturalism, but also one of parental and family rights. I don't agree with what they were trying to force the girl in your story to do, but she is their child, and they did have the right to her life until she is 18. That is simply the way things are.

All of the comments here are saying "What if the genders were reversed?" I really don't think that is necessary here. We can ALL agree victim blaming is wrong, and yes, this knee-jerk reaction by the politicians is not the correct answer. We don't need to say "what if it was a woman who got raped" because we can all agree and clearly see that it was not the victims who were at fault and this is not an appropriate response.

I disagree with this simply because RAPE is RAPE. A person dressing provocatively does not automatically invite sex. At the same time though, any type of assault is assault, whether or not it was a man who committed the act. We should not diminish rape with these kinds of quotations. Rape is not ok, be it a man, woman or anyone else. There is no way to justify it.

The question I have is "why isn't anyone doxxing these members that are doxxing others?" It really wouldn't have the same effect. There is no IRL public backlash for doxxing alone, while there is obviously massive IRL backlash for taking photos of women without their knowledge.

I have never accepted this as an adequate response. I consider myself a feminist because I believe in equal rights for women. THAT is what feminists are. Go on /r/feminism and you will find that many of the people posting there agree with supporting equal rights. Do they believe that females deserve to dominate society? In that case, they really need to take a look at themselves and reevaluate their position, and see that their actions are detrimental to their goal.

Why, and why us? Why don't they attack AdviceAnimals or f7u12. What is their agenda, "feminism" can't be the correct answer, because in no way are we anti-feminist. If they are true activists, why are they taking such a shitty route, and creative such negative feelings towards their own group? If you want to be heard, make yourself heard in a positive light, don't piss off everyone, because it will simply make you seem like a joke to onlookers who don't have a horse in the race.
