16	Circumcision for non-medical reasons is wrong. Male Genital Mutilation should require consent. A friend of mine, who was circumcised, once asked his father why he had him cut upon birth. His father says "well son, its so you stay clean down there" My friend's response "dad, do you think I wasn't going to wash that?" 13	Circumcision without consent is indefensible I once dated a girl, who told me she wanted to circumcise our (theoretical, nonexistent) son. I told her no son of mine was going to have his genitals mutilated upon birth. She says its what doctors do. We aren't together anymore. A month later, when seeing the Vagina Monologues, she read a preface to one of the monologues about female genital mutilation in the third world, with tears in her eyes.
