The inclusion of Beckham in the list was jarring and very funny, it's amazing how well the marketing has worked, goes to show how little reality matters in modern media. It also kinda feeds the whole "Americans are incredibly shallow" stereotype. Thanks, this has been enlightening.

You said he's associated with intelligence and suaveness, he's not, at least he's not in the UK, he's considered a pretty, good natured idiot who is really good at football and did a really good job marrying the smart spice girl, definitely not suave or intelligent

Yeh, he is that, but he's not an example of being suave or intelligent, he's a manc who's incredibly good at kicking a football and he married a very smart woman, he also owns his dimwit persona, which is admirable and makes him very likeable. Your list just gave me a very strong feeling of " One of these is not like the others"

is associated with intellegence and general suaveness in the vein of [..] David Beckham. The guy who appears on tv playing up to his inarticulate/idiot image?

I was sitting there the whole way through thinking "This guy is in NI or Scotland" must have been something in the conversational quotes, made it very relatable, well written.

Yeh, also, I'm in Northern Ireland, so my frame of reference for "can hold their drink" and "lightweight" is probably somewhat skewed

Huh, all of the spanish/italian people I've met here were complete lightweights, you must export the people who can't drink.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
