I completely agree with you that occasionally and erroneously arresting the victim of a crime instead of the perpetrator is abhorrent, however, the fact still remains that the victims shouldn't ever have to fear calling the cops for help. 0	As a woman, I want to apologize to all of you good men out there Better to risk a slight chance of being arrested (all of which can be handled later if there isn't any evidence against you), than to let your abuser go unpunished. Besides, in my (decidedly anecdotal) experience, if you call the cops but they don't do decide to arrest anyone, then you at least start to build up a record of information with them that they can reference if anything goes down in the future.
