You don't understand male sociality better than we do. The worst people we knew always had someone. You find out who they are eventually but we always knew because we understand men and you don't. It's not all nerd resentment or something. Leather jackets lol are you 13? The women they dated were attached to the same bad boy fantasy you are. The elite in society are wicked and happy for you to continue to choose wickedness.

>He thinks. “Hey at least I got sex out of the deal. It might suck a little if I was interested in more but yay sex.” There are certainly men who say that truthfully so I don't want to make excuses for everyone, but I also know plenty of men who perform that sentiment to mask their own hurt. Women shouldn't have to discern which it is, of course, and its a reflection of what's esteemed in male sociality today, which does indeed suck. But what I think gets reinforced when we're taking each other …

Sounds like a great cause. A lot of those folks have been through a lot. Volunteering makes me happy too, I certainly believe people are capable of kindness for its own sake, but at the same time I think it depends on society’s gratitude and recognition of kindness, not in the sense we need a 1:1 transaction but that we need some assurance that our kindness will be appreciated
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 03:43 PM

They shouldnt want to be. I think its because being in both the bottom and top tier allows for a similar amount of ego-preservation whereas actual love doesnt allow for that

I agree but it has to be reciprocated. Looks being king right now is a reflection of our antisocial and eugenicist values. If youre introspective or just look at history its obvious that attraction is subjective. Looks are also immediate. We are more and more afraid to take a chance on anyone and so what we value collapses into what we can see right away.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 03:35 PM

PPD on the bottom there
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 03:29 PM

People only say “kindness is its own reward” about other people’s kindness
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 03:27 PM

Sure, I dont like cold approaches but dont act like that’s where the paranoia stops. All the time women complain about male friends expressing interest, etc, and need this paranoid narrative that he was scheming the whole time and only wanted sex even as a friend. Here and elsewhere women seem to always want to reinforce the idea that we have a one-track caveman mind and that our feelings about people cant be complex or for their own sake

“Still harmful but not outright abusive” is coming completely out your ass, you are just programmed to despise whats seen as weakness and need to invent a justification for why youre so repulsed. Very American

Your experience with which sex are the political philosophers has to do with your standpoint. My circle is full of men who can do that talk. Most of us arent going to surrender our manhood that completely for the validation of women. Manhood was too tough for you so you gave up! You really wonder why you lost male friends?

I’m not addressing your post, shit you’re saying has been said 100 times in here, im addressing the sentiment behind it. Its so obvious in all your ‘good boys’ talk how much you resent male weakness and failure to adhere to the cruel status quo. Everything about a man like that would be forgivable in a woman, to you. There’s something so indulgent and masturbatory about how you all insist on this point all the time. Everyone knows about the Madonna-whore thing. I worked a public-facing job at a uni, both sexes were pretty equally represented among helpless students asking dumb and obvious questions. Whats apparent from this post is that you have a weird complex about asking others for help and are now projecting it onto one moment of these gym-goers lives. Idk most people get past adolescence and dont feel like a sucker for asking for help
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 06:20 AM

I do feel that. Feels like you get older and expect less and less from people only for them to still disappoint you. The good people are still out there somewhere I did the same with apps, in my head its more like: If youre super conventionally attractive we already dont have enough in common
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 06:07 AM

No. Im sure your experience is for real, and its awful, but its the exaaaact same shit on the other side. Men talk about having this exact experience. Its a reflection of the values of our society right now. We’re shallow, vapid, materialistic, cruel, etc. It’s not really anything about how men or women are in essence.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 05:50 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:11 PM

You also said having a family and being with a woman is validation. All you do by trivializing these things is show how you and your type have no understanding of the human condition.

Aren't you missing something? That world you're talking about is going away day by day. Apps are the default now and we live in hell. OP can't fix all that so stop moralizing
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 07:21 PM

Part of the truth is that we're just 'living' less. It really is the phones man. Someone can say 'go live your life' but so much of our sociality now is online and mediated by screens, and all our actions/conversations allow us a shitton of deliberation. So, the element of chance, as in a meet-cute or something, is snuffed out. Now we're in this frustrating place where we have to be completely intentional and at the same time, as nonchalant, 'confident', and aloof as we can possibly be

The obsession everyone has with authenticity these days causes a lot of dating woes. People want to be “true to themselves” (which means nothing) more than they want to be with other people. And they think everyone else should have this same commitment, so they pathologically demand honesty and transparency in everything. People in this sub are the same way because they want the other sex to be “honest” even though that proves nothing and leads to nothing

I don’t think women or men have to get all cynical and “honest” about themselves being average and to seek out averageness. You should at the very least call someone you want to be with beautiful/ a 10 regardless of whats “technically” right in your mind. The problem is what a low opinion women have of the human form in general, theyre icked out by humanity

Who tf cares whether you believe that or not? It’s an impossible hypothetical you just came up with, if you want to feel oppressed within it too then that’s your right. If women accepted men sexually as quickly as men do women that would be a drastically different world but we live in this one where we are different and have different expectations of each other as a result

Well the problem is we can't really compare it to an experience of womanhood any more than you. I feel like there's a more 'elemental' feeling under what we typically process as emasculation that is just as available to women, though, and I think it's basically what you've said already: non-belonging, being found wanting by the 'other', etc. The problem is men also trivialize the word 'emasculate' when talking about having to carry a purse for five minutes or something.

It's a good point. People forget that sacrifice is tragic and meaningless if its not on behalf of others. Like the way people get sentimental over that 'sky king' guy really bothers me, he left a family behind. To embody your role as dad, husband, citizen etc is much more noble. And there's sacrifice in that too

I haven’t been on that sub much, not into the rating thing but what you’re saying there isn’t surprising. I imagine if you’re rating someone less than 5 on there, there’s something obvious enough that you assume most others are going to rate the same based on how they look. When you start rating higher it’s more… psychological. A very highschool-ish thing with dudes that’s common is rating a very conventionally attractive woman a 7, almost like negging. I'm really thinking about how to answer your first question but I don't know exactly why. I'm thinking about a way convos about looks always go wrong here. A gender says that B gender are only attracted to the most conventionally attractive people of the opposite sex. Someone replies, "not me, I'm into average-looking people of the opposite sex!" The original poster usually then takes some tact that shows that they can't believe this is true, whether it's that they don't know what average is, they're being performative, etc. The problem is, when you're attracted to someone, clearly t…

I think what they want will reflect where there at. I'm biased but I don't think you're doomed to be a stunted person if you struggle in dating. You still get older and understand life better, and at some point you should arrive at genuinely wanting to be a boyfriend/husband rather than just wanting a girlfriend/wife.

Well said. I think the obsession with authenticity these days is sort of understandable given the inflated phoniness of social media behavior, etc, but its also kind of a ghost people are chasing. It's hard to gauge what "being yourself" actually means
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 02:28 PM

I'm not sure it's just conventionally attractive women who are like that, just immature women in general. The thing I have to remind myself is there's a mirror to this in men's behavior. "need me a bpd baddie to ruin my life" or whatever. I can look back at my less mature self and remember that I was drawn to maladjusted women. I think you either have life experiences that make you question that or you just start to question that desire as your values change from maturing. I think if we're force…

(This seemed like a digression from the other passport bros convo in here) Do passport bros ever consider just staying in the country they travel to? Chivalry is a very loaded word. Modern people live with a caricature of it that’s just about being deferential to women, but it originally was a martial system imported from Islam in which gentlemanly behavior was one part of a system with commitments that women reflected. Since we don’t live in that system, we just have the concept now narrowed down to the only relationship it still applies to, as a value a man might hold, but what those men want subconsciously is to bring back the world of chi…

I like Jane Austen but remember youre pulling examples based on the lives of country gentry, and their issues aren’t really representative of ordinary people back then. /r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 02:32 PM

RP came about as a reaction to culture. We’re in an incomprehensible and miserable cultural moment, and RP’s strength is interpreting that moment with an easy-to-follow, logical system of thought. BP is the conservative position as it seeks to apologize for the hellworld we’re in. It’s a position that seeks to get people to believe in the status quo again. Its strength comes from simply being that status quo, which the affirmation of women represents. RP falls apart when it goes beyond the mind …

A lot of discourse on here rests on the idea that as a man your only options are to be a 1950s patriarch or to worship the mother goddess
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 01:56 PM

The response you’ve received here should tell you something about each sex’s relationship with courage. Women don’t value it in themselves because they’ve never needed to be courageous, and for men its the part of this whole problem we have trouble acknowledging because its the hardest part about dating. It is just true that cowardice is the root defect of modern society. I think as men we first need to acknowledge our cowardice and forgive ourselves for it. There’s not much about life right now…

I’m just as guilty of saying charged, sweeping stuff in here but i think half the time people in here are reacting to their experience not being represented in a take coming from ‘team men’ or ‘team women.’ Can’t speak for anyone else but that’s where my OC was coming from. The elephant in the room is its obviously just comforting to believe the other sex is shallow or monolithic because then you’re not …

Throwing my two cents in: Does it even necessarily follow that libidinal changes for sexless men can only be a response to desperation? What we want and expect in a partner changes when becoming a more mature person regardless. While there’s definitely a form of arrested development you have to deal with if you just aren’t hitting that milestone, it doesn’t mean that you aren’t growing or changing at all in the meantime, and how you see the opposite sex and your future with them hopefully change…

It’s so often repeated on here that “men fuck anything”, “men are desperate” yada yada. While that definitely describes some male behavior, why must it be desperation to see beauty beyond the conventional standard? Its constantly assumed that if a man wants to be with a woman that isnt conventionally attractive that that’s a reflection of his self worth or that he’s solely concerned with sex

I think you only ‘unlearn’ that attraction when, in time, you get smart or mature enough to realize your type is not what you thought they were and that they can’t do for you what you thought they could. I don’t think you choose that though, you just grow up enough that you get disillusioned to it

While exploitation should be the first frontier of concern with porn, porn is also problematic beyond its production. It sexually alienates the consumer, causes ED, wastes their libidinal energy, encourages antisocial and fetishistic behavior and imparts a twisted, objectifying sexual outlook. Porn habits tend to ramp up in terms of extreme content and novelty seeking which has consequences on relationships

Pretty sure there’s an anti-gossip ethic in Freudian psychoanalysis which is also often accused of being anti-woman. I think having people to gossip with is kind of a great thing, makes a lot of life more tolerable and demonstrates trust between people. People who are always indignant about gossip are irritating, they’re often people who don’t get the value of good conversation in general
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 06:25 PM

You understand why i ask though, right? The people we end up desiring or being with are often not going to match our fantasies, and we often find out we don’t want our fantasy when its realized. Not that there’s anything wrong with it, ive done the same, but it can’t really be taken as a sign of depth

Agree. There’s been almost a generational backlash to self-deprecating humor lately, and part of it is that everyone’s either known or been a person who used it to cry for help, but this blanket assumption that all self-deprecating humor is necessarily that is a very paranoid reading of other people. I think we need to stop expecting that the experience of sex is the same for men and women. Your post kinda assumes that pleasure in sex should be an individual responsibility, which almost makes it a competitive act. Men and women are different and for sex to be fulfilling one needs to consider what the other wants, which is going to be a bit different from what they want to do. But that’s what makes it a rite of passage to adulthood, being responsible for the other person’s desire while satisf…

I hate especially that economic talk, high value, marketplace, and such. When people talk about a ‘10’ as if its matter of fact theyre imagining you can recognize the same societal beauty standard they do. But at that point, what are we even talking about anymore? Whats even more perplexing is like “he/she’s a 6”. So what are we communicating, that you’re attracted to them but you don’t want them to get too cocky? If you’re just being ‘honest’, then to what end, just negging? You can’t expect to…

A lot of people these days seem like they’re ashamed to be attracted to people who don’t match the beauty standard which informs a lot of that kind of nasty talk. I imagine women who get less male attention than most also receive more ‘negging.’ It’s all kind of a juvenile response, kinda like how kids are mean to their crush. So its a bit senseless that we debate here at all but the reason we do is a lack of social outlets. Good post. From the man’s side i feel like it can be difficult to prove to a woman what you value them for because we each have this preconceived caricature of what each other’s sexuality is like. Everyone saying ‘sounds like men just dont wanna be friends with women’ doesn’t really understand the level of self-worth men attach to women. In their head, when a man ends a friendship over romantic rejection they say ‘i guess he just wanted sex from me this whole time’ and like—its really a lot to a…

/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/26 03:57 PM

Well there used to be a wide array of mens-only organizations, now its like if you didnt do sports or something as a kid you kinda screwed yourself socially in a way because that’s one of the only defined modes of male sociality that is cooperative (even though its competition, ironically). Otherwise the rest of your life is competitive and you dont get that opportunity again until briefly in college and then if you have meaningful job/career, and thats where the unemployment thing comes in
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/26 03:37 PM

The thing is it’s kinda like when a woman joins an all-male workplace and is made to feel unwanted and out of their element. There is just something about single-sex spaces that makes it easier for people to find their tribe. I was in a grad program that was nearly all women and felt very much like the black sheep. After that i kinda get male flight. I like to think we can aspire to better but idk what the solution is besides a bit more sex-segregation

Social media does make it harder to get satisfaction from these other things and probs does inflate low self-worth as it concerns romance. Techno-alienation has hit men's sociality like a truck, we're spit out into the void alone whereas women seem to be enjoying the apocalypse with all their friends, teehee. So you’re a prostitute?

Do you notice though that you’re allowed to feel all those same ways about men without reproach

What the people who dont see what OP is talking about aren’t getting is that, yes, its not like people are going to raise pitchforks when they find out youre not good with women but you are on thin ice. Because redditors especially want to believe that anyone they can relegate to a loser category is an ugly villainous orc who deserves it.

Very true what youre saying at the end. And the problem is that the ‘encounter’ has been moved to an online space with dating apps, etc, so while it used to be the case that the ex or man/woman you were arguing with in your head disappears due to having to deal with a real person, now you can project all that on the profiles you see much more easily. And idk, as far as what you’re saying about placeholder relationships, maybe im a desperate optimist but i don’t feel it has to be that way. I thin…

It means that the point in life in which you graduate to wanting to be part of something bigger than yourself and wanting to love someone rather than just be loved never happens for you. You just go on “discovering yourself” forever

I think the OC was moreso humorously countering the weird economic language of the OP, at least that’s how others replying seem to be taking it. Otherwise i guess its a little digressive, but that’s how reddit goes. And yeah, regardless this isn’t the type of conversation that datasets help. I think i am kind of a hopeless romantic but im aware that doesnt really matter until its actionable, so i could very well appear to a woman as someone who can’t offer that. But in light of that, do you thin…

Look you are just going to notice men being shallow and shitty more than we do and we’re going to notice women being that way more than you do

Because we live in a society

I can see the appeal considering the emotional immaturity of gen z women but i can’t help but feel that any older women who wants an age gap relationship has to be pretty stunted herself

So basically women want to endlessly consume forever and avoid anything that involves even a little self-sacrifice

She needs to believe all men are mindless horndogs to feel superior

Maybe its not the same for everyone, but it feels like you grow up as a man with everything and everyone around you giving this great big promise of romantic life and then you’re told that feeling a lack for life not being even a little bit like that is completely pathological and disgusting. Hard not to feel like women just don’t have this same emptiness

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
