Almost all conversations are unbearable to listen to if your not part of them. Eavesdropping is not a fun way to spend your time. If your forced to eavesdrop against your will when the people at the table next to you talk to loud its maddening. The truth is that the function of almost all conversations is to promote a feeling of connection among the participants.
