Well... I see your point... I just think the laws have too many holes. My reasoning is this: women are allowed to 'give up their responsibilities through adoption' but men 'can't'. I understand the adoption is in case women are raped etc. That's good. But I also feel like this law will get abused more so then it will help. So I guess I do agree family law is complex and it seems this is a very frustrating law... Maybe that's just me.

thanks. that's a fair view. i don't believe in abandoning children on a whim, however, I do believe in pro choice, so if the man clearly states he does not want a kid before sex, and if he didn't say it before sex (and neither did the woman) they were both stupid yes, but if he said it when the women is pregnant, I still don't think he should be forced to pay. Maybe this isn't the view point of this sub, (haven't been here much before) but I'm not really a 'life begins at conception person' so I…

As I have mentioned elsewhere, I'm a feminist because I think sometimes there are things that need to be addressed exclusively for women. I'm an Asian immigrant, and some of my fellow female Asian immigrants aren't so lucky. Some are still stuck in their culture and though they suffer, they think 'that's just the way it is'. IF they weren't suffering, I would leave them be, even if they are stereotypical housewife. But they suffer. Hope it makes sense.

Maybe this seems... hypocritical, but my belief is that sometimes we need to differentiate, sometimes not. Yes, sometimes I call myself egalitarian. I guess it's about priority. I come from Asia, and let's just say it's hell over there. Although there are laws that protect females, sometimes it's not enough. Immigrating to North America, it's slightly better, but I've known a few women who cannot seem to escape their culture. I know it's a minority, but that's my thing, I might be naive, but I f…

I think it's stupid to say feminism protects men too... It's called FEMinism for a reason... Oh sure, it helps the 'feminine' and 'gay' men, but ultimately it's still only helping xx people and anything associated with the xx chromosomes...

Wow! That's a lengthy novel! But thank you for your view point, I can't say I agree with all, but there we have it. Good day, your contribution to this thread is appreciated.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
