i don't know your situation but i assume that at 19 you'd have a couple years before getting married and having kids. you could use this time to get an education or some work experience so you wouldn't have to start form nothing if in the future you needed to work to support yourself or help support your family.

european here, i don't think it's as common where i live so i'm no expert. but i always get a very insecure/loser vibe from the kind of men you're talking about. i wouldn't be too upset to see them go. but i obviously can't blame anyone for not wanting to date a western feminist and i understand why this could become a problem.

maybe some encouragement: my mom started her university education at age 40 after her and my dad separated. she was a single mom of a very needy 5 year old (me) in a new town all by herself. and with a part time job on top of uni she graduated with mediocre grades. she then went full time at her job as an assistant at the university. now she's a professor and one of the top researchers in her field. i'm not trying to say you should or shouldn't go back to school or that you need to be a career w…

porn is fine. obsessing over a random chick's day to day life on instagram is creepy and borderline cheating.

i'm here to lurk and get a different perspective. i'm on the redpillwomen sub and find myself agreeing with most of what is being said over there, so i'm just trying to avoid the echo chamber. hope you guys can figure it out, i always enjoy reading your discussions.

i relate to this so much! as someone who also can't do make up (a combination of lack of interest, clumsiness and my face: double lidded eyes & white as the wall combination skin) my cheat is red lipstick. i find that it works on me. with minimal effort i look put together and classy on a good day. and on bad days it distracts from my break outs and is more helpful than cover up which usually just makes me feel cakey and uncomfortable. i guess my point is that it's ok if your make up doesn't loo…

i don't think i understand. why would you want to date someone if you think you're out of their league? like if you feel like you could do better, find someone better. and that goes for men and women.

just passing on what medical professionals have told me. i am not one, so don't take my advice. from what i understand/the way it was explained to me: just because it is an std does not mean that sex is the only way to contract it. it isn't proven (not sure how they would even be able conduct a study like that ethically) but theoretically you can contract it from a thing (like your hand that just touched the doorknob) coming into contact with the mucosa. again that's how it was explained to me b…

short answer: yes. long answer: y e s. not saying that it's easy or that i have concrete advice on how to move on from a 6-year relationship or on how to heal from such horrible betrayal. but you need to give yourself a chance. you deserve love and honesty and someone you can trust. there's no shame in reaching out to friends and family (or even a therapist), i think they'll be a better help in getting over what happened than having promiscuous sex or rushing right into the next relationship.

just clarifying that you can get hpv from a toilet seat or from touching the doorknob before using a public restroom. so even if you are a virgin and your partner is too, even if you remain a virgin forever :D you're still not safe. edit: i'm more concerned about the vaccine than i am about hpv though, personally. so i didn't get the vaccine. but that's something everyone has to decide for themselves.

i think men and women face different struggles, society has different expectations for both geners and they're mistreated or disadvantaged in different ways. "[the other gender] have it easier" is something i only ever hear from people who are bitter/are looking for an excuse for their failure or to rationalize their personal suffering. with any example people give of why one or the other gender have it easier i find that there's usually some other factor other than gender (like looks, age, heal…

hi there :) i have alopecia areata and lost my full head of long, blond hair over two years ago. i found a lot of support online on r/alopecia (which you should check out), and on a subreddit specifically for my diagnosis (i'm sure there's one for androgenetic alopecia too). losing your hair is so difficult, and fighting hair loss (which i did for a few months) is even harder. but having no hair is actually not as bad as i thought: i got completely used to it after about 6 months. to my boyfrien…

But what it does do is provide a legal framework to where there is a legal process to determine the division of assets and properties and to protect the support and care of children as well as protect the parental rights and obligations of each parent. i'm aware. but that's not really marriage you're describing, it's divorce. and of course that's still real and relevant. but i don't want to trap my boyfriend and make it more difficult for him to leave if he wanted to, and i don't want to be trap…

I want to cook sexy stuff with goat cheese and fresh herbs not meatloaf lol i'm dead haha. i totally get that! my mom is an amazing cook but i did not learn from her, at least not at first. i started out with an amazing beginners cook book called "cooking for lazy people", i'd link it but it's in german. i'm sure there's many books like that though: quick, sexy recipes with few ingredients that are easy to come by. get a book with lots of pictures, it sounds silly but it's so motivating and it's…

to me it sounds like he's insecure about something, maybe he's not sure how you really feel about him. i'm sorry i don't have concrete advice but maybe if you could find out why he feels this way that could help. it sounds like you're thinking about the situation logically rather than just reacting which is good! the worst thing you could do is let him project these insecurities onto you.

so was i. my parents were seperated at the time and right before my dad got sick my parents made plans for me to finally move in with him. i was beyond excited and so heartbroken when i found out it would never happen. losing my dad made my teenage years so much harder but i believe it also made me a more emotionally mature and empathetic person than i would have been. i know your daughter will come out of this stronger, even if it will take some time. you probably have plenty of people who are …

i feel like you can't really know for sure until you're in a difficult situation for the first time, where you have to overcome something together. but maybe you can try and imagine that: what would it be like if you had a disagreement, what if he was in a difficult situation where maybe he couldn't give you all that positive attention in that moment, if he needed your help or support with something, would you want to be there for him? this is a very extreme example but after the first year of m…

since my boyfriend and i decided on who does what around the house it's become so much easier to keep up with everything. he's aware when i did my tasks and that reminds him to keep up with his- and the other way around :) we don't really have a schedule for that reason, but i like to make "to do" lists when i'm feeling unproductive.

We are constantly changing employees because he always has something to complain about, often when they leave they list him always being dissatisfied as one of the reasons. sounds like this "always being dissatisfied" thing is a he problem, not a you problem. i don't know how you could make this better (by yourself), when the problem is with him, not you. have you tried to talk to him about it like: I appreciate and value that a lot but it can really get too much. ? maybe find out if he is even …

i don't. i mean i'd be concerned if a friend of mine wanted to buy one of those robot sex dolls, like i don't think it's normal or healthy. but if some random guy out there wants to have sex with a robot that's non of my business. maybe this is a concern for women who need the attention they get from these men, even if they're not attracted to them?

I don't understand how many of you aren't affected by your man watching other naked ladies. i think porn is totally fine. i watch it sometimes and so does my boyfriend. BUT if you are affected by your partner watching porn that is valid and you need to talk to him about it. you should be with someone who is compatible with you and your beliefs on this.

I hope you didn't put it in your dating profile that you have a daughter or put pictures of her because that's how you attract pedophiles. you're kidding right? of course she has to tell a potential partner about her kid and it's good that didn't scare him off. is every man who is good with kids or likes kids a pedophile? i guess i should start a family with a man who hates kids then just to be safe :D

i'm going to assume that most people who consider themselves red pilled still agree that men and women deserve equal rights under the law and that's what feminism used to mean. so... probably? i don't consider myself a feminist because a) the term means 1000 different things today and i disagree with most of them and b) women already have equal rights where i live so what's the point

i thought the red pill in the context of gender and relationships just means that you acknowledge differences between men and women and like traditional gender roles. are there some red pilled men who hate women? probably. just like how there are some male feminists or "SJWs" who hate women.

that's tough. i feel like you're not going to find a lot of support on this subreddit.. so i guess i'll try: i've been with my partner for 5 years now and i can relate to some of what you're saying: there are times in our relationship when i'm not in love with him (which doesn't mean i don't love and respect him) and i crave that feeling i had when i first met him. i never looked for other people or met anyone behind his back but sometimes there would be a guy that tried to flirt with me and i'd…

you're totally right that it's a risk. i'm a young woman in a relationship. i love my boyfriend, i want to be with him forever and have a family and i just have to trust that he's telling the truth when he says that he wants all that too. it's an investment in a way, i'm with him now even though someone else would maybe have more to offer when it comes to superficial things (like money) and i hope he'll be with me in 20 years when other women would have more to offer him (like looks maybe). i di…

that sucks that you feel that way. my best friend got a reduction a year ago. she used to hate her chest to the point where she didn't want to date or get into a relationship because she was so uncomfortable. if you really can't feel comfortable in your body maybe you should look into getting surgery? i thought this was crazy before my friend explained it to me but it really changed her life.

that's good that you're feeling good :) but i don't think there's a "hidden agenda" if a man is attracted to a woman, like why hide it and not just tell her. and when i'm attracted to someone i don't not see them as a normal person so this really confuses me :D

my "hot" is not everyone's "hot". i rarely see men that i find as attractive as my boyfriend and he looks nothing like chad-with-a-million-instagram-followers. i love him for his kind heart and personality but i also want my babies to look like him, you know. so i'd say looks are kind of important for a long term relationship.

alice's adventures in wonderland is my all time favourite girly story. also harry potter of course (please ignore j.k.'s cringy twitter ramblings. the books are great, i promise). as a young child i loved astrid lindgren (especially the six bullerby children but also pippi longstocking). and my favourite book my mom read to me as a child was probably the neverending story (it's ridiculously long as the name suggests so i wouldn't have read it by myself but i loved it).

i don't think i'm going to be very helpful here, i was never into casual sex, never even considered it, so i'm obviously not the type of girl most guys on here would be looking for. but when it comes to flirting with someone i like when i feel like i'm really getting to know the other person, when what they're telling me about themself is authentic and not just what i've read on every idiots' dating profile. guys who just tell you what they think you want to hear are so predictable, i could talk…

there have been enough for me to notice what they all had in common and that i wasn't into it. you're right that men are very generous with compliments though. like if i really wanted them all i'd have to do is create an instagram or tinder account, not because i'm a stacey or special in any way but because most men have no standards when it comes to handing out compliments, maybe because of what some of the guys here are saying: they actually think it'll get them sex.. like if they just try it …

i don't know.. when a guy compliments me a lot i get bored very quickly. it's not really worth anything if they do it all the time. it's kind of needy and gross honestly. and i don't think i'm the only girl who feels this way. but hey if it works for you :)

ok good point. but i'd say that changes relationships in general and not necessarily anyone's "value": like people may not want to "settle" because what if they find something better. but men and women both experience fomo so it can't "inflate the average girl's value", right?

probably an unpopular opinion but: no. online dating is just regular dating online: especially on shitty apps like tinder everyone is superficial and you're only going to talk to people you find physically attractive (just like you would in real life). most men have really low standards, both online and in real life and so for girls who base their self esteem off of how many men they can get "pump and dumped" by (gross!) their ego is going to be inflated.

my boyfriend is very handsome (way out of my league) but i wasn't even that attracted to his looks when we first met. what i liked about him when we first met was how smart, funny, and confident he was. every girl i know cares about that more than looks, so i really don't think you need to worry about this. we're not superficial assholes like guys are.. we are superficial assholes in our own different way that doesn't have to do with looks as much as you think.

and what if you don't fit "societal standards"? nothing happens. if you want to be a freak, be a freak! so yeah: nobody is forcing you to do anything. if you live in a first world country you are not oppressed!

you are your own person, you are free to make your own decisions. nobody is forcing you to do anything. nobody is oppressing you and pretending to be oppressed won't change anything about your situation. nobody owes anybody a date or a relationship or even sympathy. if you're unhappy, take responsibility and make changes.

i love this!! especially the advice about making decisions. i hope i remember this next time i'm in a situation like that with my boyfriend.

i don't really have an answer for you, i hope someone else can be more helpful but.. i think some people on here can be kind of dogmatic and weird about relationship dynamics, so i can totally relate to you questioning and overthinking things because of that. i just don't think there's one right way to handle your situation (or any relationship). sorry if this is super obvious or stupid but i'd probably just talk to him about it and ask him how he feels about things: "is it ok if i stay the nigh…

i think i'm most attracted to either one of the last two body types. i think physical strength is very attractive, but six packs/super ripped guys look weird to me.

i think most of my friends would probably laugh at me if they knew i was on here :D my closest friends know that i'm a bit more old fashioned when it comes to relationships... or my relationship. but most of the time we don't really talk about that. i'm 23, most of my friends are my same age so maybe their opinions will change over time or maybe mine will. i don't know.

wow :D ok! this is all very interesting stuff and i really want to give you an answer, i just never thought about it that much. i'm also not sure i understand your last question..

not for me. and i don't think it is for most people. i'm not going to tell anyone how to live their life but if it was a friend of mine i'd probably try to talk them out of it.

i don't think cheating is ever ok (emotional or sexual), i think the question is what that means to the couple. like if one person views something as a nice conversation or a friendship but the other feels betrayed, does that make it cheating? is flirting emotional cheating? does it make a difference if you're physically (or romantically) attracted to that person? like is it ok to flirt with someone you're not attracted to but not with someone you find attractive? does it matter whether they kno…

i wouldn't. 1. i'm 23, been in a relationship for 5 years now, no kids yet and not in the near future. 2. so i tend to be attracted to men who are older than me, like in their 30s, but at that point their potential kids would still be young kids so i don't know if my opinion would change if i were older/dating older men with older kids. but i would never ever date someone who had young kids. it's an awkward situation for the kids and i wouldn't want to do that to any child. 3. i think it would. …

i just want to add a big "!" to "dress well". finding a style that suits me and clothes i feel comfortable in changed everything for me. suddenly people compliment you on your looks and treat you like you're an adult who has her shit together. i instantly felt more comfortable and less anxious and awkward.

it's not exactly a new idea.. i've seen a few people (mostly radical feminists) claiming that women can't want or enjoy sex. personally i think it's bullshit. i feel like men wo think this way might just be bad in bed and women who think this way have probably just not been with the right person.

strangely i can relate to this even though i'm in a very happy relationship. i honestly feel horrible for some of my single friends because i see what they have to put up with. just the thought of having to date again makes me want to throw up. so yeah i don't think this comment is going to be helpful in any way but i just wanted to say: i get it!

Not weird at all! My friend and I started referring to intense discussions with strangers as "intellectual one night stands" :D Anyway... thanks for your perspective :) super interesting to hear the other side of this.

Having beautiful girl friends is a serious struggle. I've been the less-pretty friend all my life and I can relate to your post so much. As I have become more confident and found my personal style it doesn't really bother me anymore. Two things really helped: - Realizing that while I may not be everyone's type, there absolutly are guys who like the way I look and prefer me over girls that i think are much prettier. (My boyfriend is way out of my league looks wise. He could date a pretty girl but…

i get almost all my dresses from uniqlo. their ines de la fressange collections are always so pretty! plus the dresses are really good quality. edit: i'm only in my 20s but i like to pretend i'm/dress like a 50s housewife so i hope this still helps

This is the cutest thing ever! I love it. I really enjoy doing special things like that when we have friends over but i never thought of throwing a theme party just for the two of us :D

haha epic username! well i can't say i've fully overcome nihilism. i'm still very much an edgy atheist and there are so many important questions that i haven't thought about enough. what has changed is that i have a plan of where i want to go and while i'm not sure about the objective meaning of life i believe i have found my purpose: i'm getting a degree in a field i think i'm good in to eventually get a job where i can hopefully contribute to society in a meaningful way. (feeling needed and he…

i was 18 and i was convinced i'd never meet a guy who's right for me (because that's definitely the kind of thing you know at 18). i had recently gone on my first "date" and hated it. "never again" i told myself :D and i was about to delete my dating profile when i got a really funny, personal message from a guy i thought was way too smart and attractive to want to talk to me. he lived a few hours away so before i went to meet up with him we wanted to talk on the phone for a bit. it turned into …
