You're right. The "eyelashes and hair" crowd are in the same situation as an AFC as they believe the woman is the 'target' rather than someone you are attempting to engage with. If the purpose of PUA is to demonstrate that you can be witty, interesting, funny - in other words, good company - why wouldn't this help a woman demonstrate value too?

Another double standard is, when a woman shows interest in you right away you have to play hard to get and qualify her to show her that you have standards, otherwise she'll think you're too easy. But nowhere do PUAs raise an issue with her expressing interest in you right away.
