I went to a music festival with this guy. 75% of the attendees were in dreadlocks.

This might shock the other side of the fence, but I don't care who you are or what gender you are, I judge you on what you do. These people made enjoyable films and that has nothing to do with their gender.

I'm not a pro football player, clearly I am oppressed too! It has nothing to do with some people just being born more physically 'appropriate' for an activity. Those same pro football players probably aren't as good ice skaters.

Everyone can act however they want to act, as long as they act the way we want them to.

Wait, additional question. How do you figure support for Abortion factors into these definitions?

So (and again, I'm not arguing, just learning) how does being progressive imply support for that sort of thing (affirmative action) (which I disagree with)? I was under the impression progressivism was just moving forwards, in contrast to conservatism which is to leave things the way they are / were.

I mean this seriously and non confrontationally: Could you explain this point of view a little more? I don't understand. Progressivism encompases civil rights and equality. Mens Rights is a form of civil rights, is it not? Are we not trying to make the world a better place?

I agree. I thought we were progressive around these parts.

So, I go to hacker cons. For years, they have been a mostly male dominated group who talks about issues involving the erosion of freedom and the use of censorship in society. There are females who participate in the culture, but the ratio is about 1/10 F/M, but the community has always been tolerant and inclusive to everyone. But not to the Ada Initiative. There was a woman named "Violet Blue" (hacker names, ya know) who wanted to give a speech on hacking sexuality, basically the use of drugs to…

This is tricky, because the other side would say that teaching many neutral concepts is 'sciencism' or some sillyness like that. Making things illegal doesn't solve much.

And christianity! American christians don't represent the concept of christianity. American christians for the most part are pro war, anti welfare, pro hate groups, and if you ever went up to a christian and said 'that belief you hold isn't very christian of you' they would say 'well how would you know, you must not be christian'. The whole organization is based on belief in something intangible 'god / patriarchy' and their only justification for any bigoted action is 'well, the other christians…
