Just a point about meditation: it shouldn't be goal-orientedah, ok, my bad; for some reason it doesn't for me. anyway, didn't mean to give a stand-offish vibe here, and sorry if it came off that way. i think this is a great forum, and a great way for guys to build confidence. that's just a point that i thought has been a bit glossed over in all the discussion on meditation. i think it's really cool you guys are promoting any form of self reflection, whatever we call it. | /r/seduction | 06/02/13 10:59 PM
Just a point about meditation: it shouldn't be goal-orientednot at all high horse, and like i said, i'm no enlightened roshi or anything like that. if you're getting benefits out of your practice, then that's great, and i'm happy for you. i put 'meditating' in quotes precisely because i'm not anyone to define it. but if you go read some literature on eastern meditation, which seems to be what's being peddled here, then you'll find that a critical component of what makes it efficacious is being left out. anyway, good luck to you. | /r/seduction | 06/02/13 10:46 PM
Just a point about meditation: it shouldn't be goal-orienteddid you remove this? i guess that's totally your right as a mod, but...if so, kinda strange man. | /r/seduction | 06/02/13 10:43 PM
Just a point about meditation: it shouldn't be goal-orientedthanks for the response; i guess though i would liken that to praying to god to ask him to give you girls. no one was ever harmed by sitting quietly and reflecting, you're right, but if you're sitting quietly and reflecting with the goal of pickup in mind you're not really 'meditating.' you're practicing the Secret. | /r/seduction | 06/02/13 10:31 PM
Pickup has screwed up my lifei'm glad the zoloft is helping. and i'm certainly not anyone to tell you how you feel or what will make you happy. but i can tell you're a smart person, and my guess is you spin your wheels a lot, ruminating, second-guessing, planning, beating yourself up when things don't go according to plan. the issue is seeking validation in things that are beyond your control. maybe things didn't work out with this girl. but isn't it amazing to know that you have the capacity to be happy? and i swear to god… | /r/seduction | 28/01/13 09:13 PM
Pickup has screwed up my lifeone tough thing i had to learn is that other people cannot fill that void. you think you'll stop being lonely if someone else is around, but if you're anything like me, you can feel lonely even if you're not alone. loneliness is a symptom, not the underlying problem. you're lonely because you're depressed, not because you're alone. but that's actually good news: if your problems were truly related to other people, then you would have little to no control over your problems...they would be entire… | /r/seduction | 28/01/13 08:26 PM
Pickup has screwed up my lifei was on zoloft for a while...on wellbutrin now. different things work for different people. just make sure you're being open and honest with your therapist about your state of mind, because depending on that it may be worth changing up your meds. depression is like quicksand. people who say "just be positive, be optimistic" don't understand. the harder you try to pull yourself out of it, the farther you sink in. the trick for me was to stop struggling so hard. have you ever tried meditation? it… | /r/seduction | 28/01/13 08:06 PM
Pickup has screwed up my lifeIt sounds to me like you definitely have clinical depression and maybe anxiety, so it's good you're getting treatment for that. If you don't mind me asking, what are you on? There's no such thing as a magic bullet, but the right medication can go a long way towards helping relieve you of these feelings of worthlessness. Right now you're trapped in a spiral, where your self-defeating thoughts are becoming self-fulfilling. As someone who has (and does) struggle with depression, I know how hard it … | /r/seduction | 28/01/13 07:46 PM

[xMODx] Seddit Simple Questions Thread 1/28/13 (please upvote - zero karma)there's nothing wrong with a declarative statement every now and then. e.g., you: [question?] her: [answer.] you: [question?] her: [answer.] you: [declarative statement, threaded from conversation.]. there might be silence at this point, but if the girl has any conversational abilities whatsoever, she'll pick up the thread and either say something declarative in response or ask you a question. basically, you can't be afraid of slight lulls in the conversation if it's to break up the question/ans… | /r/seduction | 28/01/13 05:56 PM
[xMODx] Seddit Simple Questions Thread 1/28/13 (please upvote - zero karma)anyone got any good tips for playfully letting a girl know that her bragging is annoying? i understand that perhaps this is just their awkward way of trying to "demonstrate value," but to constantly hear it when getting to know someone is a big turn-off to me. right now my strategy is to give them shit about it in a playful way, but i'm wondering if something more direct would be better. | /r/seduction | 28/01/13 05:45 PM
Coffee and dinner while trying to destroy your AFC?totally off-topic, but really the only time you should wear a black suit is if you're going to a wedding or a funeral. doubly true with black tie. | /r/seduction | 12/12/12 09:27 PM
I've been familiar with the community for 5 years and I'm still a 22 year old virgin. It's starting to mess with my head. [ADVICE APPRECIATED]I'm not a regular here, and so may not be qualified to give advice, but it sounds like your standards may be too high right now. Of course you want to have sex with someone you're attracted to, but you note you're an average joe who's "really picky." at this point, you're probably also psyching yourself out. look, step one is stop jerking off so much. step two is just go fuck someone (NOT a hooker). this very likely is not the person you're going to spend the rest of your life with, so get over … | /r/seduction | 12/12/12 05:38 PM
The one thing that prevents me taking all this stuff seriously.as a NYC public transportation rider, i can tell you that 99% of the time this would not work here, either. women have their shields at max when riding the subway/bus, and so in this context this sort of open would most likely come off as creepy | /r/seduction | 20/08/12 04:05 PM
Trying to organise first date..any way to salvage this?Doesn't sound too good; I think your 1st text was a little too nice-guy, though I don't think that was the issue. Sounds like she just wasn't that much on the hook, based on her initial responses ("nice meeting you too, glad you liked it" has kind of a conclusory ring to it, and "tomorrow is no good for me, maybe next week" sounds like a polite brush-off). I guess you could wait until Sunday and text again, but if she responds I would try to get a bit of a rapport going before asking her out aga… | /r/seduction | 20/08/12 03:55 PM

Trying to "steal sets"fair; and i definitely have been on the receiving end of someone trying for the steal, and usually it's something to laugh about with a girl afterwards, but unless you're really good it tends to throw you off your rhythm. and again, not saying what you did is wrong, but to me it seems sort of like geting up right next so someone who's about to catch a wave and trying to cut them off on it (if you happen to surf). | /r/seduction | 20/08/12 02:02 AM
Trying to "steal sets"Not that i know much about etiquette in these situations, but this seems sort of douchey. | /r/seduction | 20/08/12 01:42 AM

What are some hobbies that I can get started with quickly?i just got back into rock climbing, and if you happen to live near a climbing gym, would definitely recommend it. great way to stay in shape and the learning curve is fairly shallow (at first) so it's not hard to feel like you're making a lot of progress, which at least for me is important to keep me coming back in the early stages of learning a new hobby/skill. also girls at climbing gyms tend to be pretty attractive. | /r/seduction | 18/08/12 05:26 PM
I'm 23 and have never had a girlfriend, had sex, or even held a girls hand. How do I snap out of my loser mentality and ruminating about the past?hey, thanks for the thoughtful response...i'm still not sure reading it is going to be the most efficient way for OP to go about learning confidence and poise around women, but your point is interesting. | /r/seduction | 15/08/12 01:40 AM
I'm 23 and have never had a girlfriend, had sex, or even held a girls hand. How do I snap out of my loser mentality and ruminating about the past?"be open minded" i respect anyone who reads books. i'm serious. but that is not a particularly well-written book. and objectivism is essentially nothing more than a half-baked personal philosophy of justified selfishness created by a bitter ex-communist. this in no way helps OP in picking up girls. shit, he'd even be better off reading the fountainhead (at least howard roarke guy gets a smoking hot girl through cultivated indifference). i also think it was stupid to recommend "the alchemist," bu… | /r/seduction | 15/08/12 01:08 AM
I'm 23 and have never had a girlfriend, had sex, or even held a girls hand. How do I snap out of my loser mentality and ruminating about the past? Some people here may disagree, but I think you might want to consider joining a dating website. The main benefit here is that it will get you used to hitting on girls with training wheels on; you can spend a lot of time thinking about what you're going to say, and rejection doesn't sting as bad when it's not face-to-face. This should only be a first step (you should still go after girls IRL), but it might be a helpful way to start learning to put yourself out there, flirt, etc. | /r/seduction | 14/08/12 03:35 PM
