The study you are reffering about speaks of young men and young women (18-29). The data to extrapolate is simple: most young women date older men.

People are not slaves to their biological instincts as much as you think. When you are fully aware of the subconsious process that is happening within your mind you can fight and win over it. "Good-genes" are a misconception. Example: People generally assume others with glasses are more intelligent. Even thought the gene is "technically bad" it is still generally positively discriminated. Women generally prefer much taller men and men much shorter women, even thought that result in babies that a…

Would you really think it's "most of them" that are just casually watching Tate to hear him say "wild stuff" rather than mostly people who actually see him a model? His comment sections would make me assume otherwise.

They wouldn’t exist at all if everyone truly had different preferences… I do believe that it is being undermined, and that people are now (a bit at least) more educated about this problem and wny not to go for a date only because of physical attraction. Ask yourself how and why those “constructs got created in the first place. Why are they effective? Because that's what we seem to like to do as a society: creating power hierachies, and basing them on things people can't change about themselves i…

Dishonesty comes from yourself unwilling to admit that social-right activists, most of them women, have done more to actually improve the situation of men than most men did for themselves. The reason why "the men's rights movement is not popular" is because there is no actual positive consensus emerging from the men's right movement and it is terribly plagued by fallacies.

Nice argument, lots of good-faith and constructive criticism right here. Good day too.

“Beauty standards” and “sex symbols” do exist. But they are social constructs. Beauty standards were not the same throughout history, and especially not recent now that our shared mainstream culture got divided into smaller "sub-cultures". I do believe that there is a "beauty privilege" and it is actively harmful because it pushes people with unmatching personalities to try to date based on a "physical type" matching, which surely will end in toxic relationships. But it is not something that is …

Reposting the same inaccurate thing twice doesn't make it true. What "fiscal decision" do you mean outside of civil unions/domestic partnerships? What are you investing in?

Marriage opens for alots of benefits and advantages at once*, it's simply the better option in many cases. Other alternatives such as civil unions just don't make some plans go as easy as marriage could, althought they are less binding legally. And if your relationship is based on your partner's physical appearance alone, it is certain that it is not going to last long. *Edit: and so far I've been speaking for my own european country, but a quick google search shows me there are even more of the…

Nowadays marriage is mostly about getting benefits from the state so you can more easily build the life plans you wish to establish as a couple. It's supposed to help your couple in your shared goals, but it does not to assure that it'll make your shared bonds permanent. That's on you two to make it continue working, and when it doesn't it's sometimes the best to make it end. Marriage should by no means be a light-hearted decision, it's a plan you set with your partner for the long-term. But it …

This. I'm sure situations like these can be avoided just by being open about divorce before getting married. If your partner is not willing to discuss plans for a mutual divorce in case of, it's not a good sign in my opinion.

I wouldn't say there is systematic correlation, as many men manage to have fullfilling friendships while failing romantically. But there surely also are many cases of men who struggle both with friends and with romantical interests due to similar reasons.
