Saying all women are gold diggers isn't being misogynistic?

Casual misogyny like this is what gives MRA a bad rap. Stupid shit like this gets singled out and people pretend we all think this way.

You're right on not being a statistics expert. With a relatively small sample you can actually say quite a lot about the entire population with a high degree of confidence. I.e. just because Britain has 33 million women doesn't mean you need to sample 1 million to get accurate polling. You are much more correct to criticize things like sampling bias and bias in the way the questions were asked.

So, in other news, someone went to relationship advice looking for exactly what they wanted to hear.

No. I never felt comfortable telling her no. And honestly I just would rather not deal with her ever again. I think if I tried to escalate these things it would be disastrous for my social life.

Not great. My therapist and strangers on Reddit. It's a start.

But it's not like I didn't do things. I would be on top or be an active participant. It didn't change the fact I didn't want to be doing those things, I just felt emotionally powerless to say no. In a situation like that it feels just wrong to call it abuse, but I haven't found a good way to internalize it. The fact that I let it happen so many times makes it even harder to understand.

As a male victim of sexual abuse I can agree that it feels worse when I got off. I knew I didn't want to be doing it, and it was a purely physical response. It makes it hard for me to even call it abuse because I look back on it and wonder "if I was able to have an orgasm, then did I actually want it"? I don't know. Knowing that there are people like the one in the post make it hard to reconcile what happened. All I know is there were many times I didn't want sex, and everything during and after…

Yes, ad hominem is a logical fallacy. Name calling is not, it's just rude. People like to call it "ad hominem" a lot because they like to seem smart, even though it's entirely incorrect.

She was answering your question and gave you the reason. That's not what ad hominem is.

Op is really pearl clutching. Most instances of American combat have been purely for economic reasons ever since WW1. I don't think disrupting foreign governments to destabilize their growth in the name of "freedom" is something we should display proudly. Every conflict we fight in makes us money because of our military-industrial complex. The amount of military equipment we sell to other countries that can't develop industries because of our presence is baffling. If OP actually cared about men'…
