0	Reddit White Knight humiliated I don't think that you're right about the law, because (at least in some places, maybe most) there's the idea of reasonable force. A person has the right to defend himself with reasonable force. I don't think he has the right to get retribution. So if it's reasonable to think that he needed to slug her in order to protect himself, then you're right that he's legally in the clear. 1	Reddit White Knight humiliated Laws are different in different places, but in most places, if a reasonable person would expect to be attacked in a given scenario, and a reasonable person wouldn't think that there was a way to escape or defuse the attack, then he's legally allowed to use force first. I'm not saying that's what happened in this case. I'm only talking about the false idea that you can never legally hit first.
