What's the need to make her post if she feels secure in this? Edit to change wording - I said "this post" and realized it came off like I was disagreeing with the OP.

It does seem so exhausting. If my partner and I have enough time to date other people then we have failed at building a fulfilling relationship and fulfilling personal lives.

Really don't care what a woman in her late 30s dating a man in his early 20s has to say about relationships in general tbh. I've always said that if I'm almost 40 and still have enough things to talk about with a 20-25 yr old to form a relationship, I've done something wrong.

Yea, this definitely does make me feel a little less dumb about my current financial situation. At least I jeopardized my finances in the pursuit of love and connection and not just to see a penis.

Hmm. Your underbelly comment made me think of cats. Women should socialize like cats. Guarded, protected, but extremely affectionate when you earn their trust.

Ok, where do I find a man who is going to wait on me hand and foot? Cuz in my experience the Venn diagram has always been flipped :)

Yes!! I did that with a male doctor as well when I had to get tested in my first relationship (I've been cheated on an embarrassing amount, I always say i have a guardian angel looking out for me because aside from emotional pain I get out relatively scratch free) and it wiped the smug look right off his face. And honestly even if I was banging a ton of people raw and caught something that way, isn't that what society tells us is empowering? =_= we are supposed to engage in casual sex culture bu…

I agree with this. I do use the word "clean" to describe that status but I think the language needs to change because it implies the other option is "dirty." Especially when a majority of infected people didn't like, intentionally set out to get an STD. A lot of times they were betrayed and got it that way.

My friend has a husband, 3 kids, and a full time job. We don't hang out often but she makes sure to set aside time nearly every single damn day to get on the phone and have an actual verbal conversation with me. We only ever text when we're sending an address or a link to something we think the other might like. So what's the excuse again?

It makes me so sad. The ex in question, in our weird friendship stage (aka me being gullible and getting used again... but thankfully I wised up and was much safer sexually this time) would sit and cryyyy about how he felt so dirty and regretted having unprotected sex with other people after our breakup. We stopped having sex because he informed me he'd slept with someone raw about a week into it. They really don't GAF. They just wanna bust a nut in someone and a lot of them can't come with a co…

I had to get a test after a douche ex cheated on me. Claimed he used a condom but I didn't trust him and would've gotten ond regardless. The NP was AMAZING when I went a week after for the results - clean, thank God, but I did get a BV (shocker) and she did everything she could to assure my pickme self that I wasn't dirty or gross, it was likely from PIV sex with my partner at the time or POSSIBLY baths. My baths have stayed, the partner did not. Lol. And his hygiene was honestly better than som…

When i was on OLD i got this a lot because im into photography. They ask for free pointers or straight up free work - "can you take pictures of my car" 🤢🤢. I used to retort with made up pricing for lessons/a shoot. None of them took me up on that. Eventually I got bored of it and just started unmatching.

I am really struggling with not being bitter lately. Maybe I need time off of reddit. This is so heartbreaking. I'm sad for the wife but I'm also angry at her. Men are not going to protect us. We have to protect each other. And we fail to do that so often. I'm only 24 and I'm so tired. There's so much pressure to allow a man to degrade us and hurt us during sex. Sex! Something that is supposed to unite us and form a soul body connection. I have never been aroused by even the thought of being rou…

Like. Seriously. I don't even know what to say anymore, it makes me so sad. That woman is so beautiful and I don't know her as a person but considering she didn't curse him out and leave that date I would gather she's a kind and humble person, just very lost. The fact that a man would test a woman like that? He should be kissing the ground she walks on. His looks reflect his personality, for sure.

Queen shit 🙏🙏 like, there's SO many memes about scrotes that don't even wash their asses. Yet I know so many naturally gorgeous women who look that way even doing just the "bare minimum" personal hygiene routines. And yet we're the ones expected to make alterations like plastic surgery, makeup, hair dye, etc. Like, nah. If a man wants all those things he can give us a spa day and do it himself! I've always found it morbidly amusing that many LVM subscribe to "the wall" philosophy but then make no actual use out of having a young, vibrant partner. Imagine having a beautiful woman who cares about you enough to want to go to nice dinners, museums, concerts - whatever hobbies you guys enjoy together. Instead the relationship path line is now MAYBE one dinner date > sex > any relationship that forms post sex will be the type of relationship an 80 yr old retired couple has. I know couples in…

I always say this when men comment about how I don't wear makeup. 1. Are you gonna pay for it and 2. Are you gonna put it on me? I am not spending money and putting effort into something that men are not societally required to do to be "put together."

Bingo Edit - they do this shit on the antiwork subreddit, of all places. Someone posted an obviously fake job story and when people asked for more details they'd just reply "look at my profile for more details" and the profile was just onlyfans promo. Antiwork had no problem w this of course, they're anti-all work except sex work bcuz my pp still needs servicing

This infuriates me to no end. One of my exes would whine that I always got dressed up to go see my girlfriends but when we went "out" I'd be in athletic wear. Because the only thing he ever took me "out" to do was walk. Like I was a fuckin dog. So sorry that I don't care to wear a dress and heels for a walk.

For sure. I work in accounting (private, so my pay is not anything to write home about) and when I was still on OLD I very quickly removed my job from my profile. Too many men would start a convo with "wow you work in accounting you must make really good money." As if that's any of a strangers business! And for their information no, I don't, we're living in a capitalist hellhole, Greg.

This has always been my go to, except in the past I wouldn't dump and they'd just end up cheating 🤡 a man who truly loves and respects you will not want to share himself with anyone else let alone share you.

Men only think they can have sex with emotional detachment. They cannot. It is not the same type of emotional attachment as women but men definitely prefer certain women to others at times because of the level of comfortability and the ability to be a slob and low effort around her. When women wise up and leave I don't think the typical anger and begging for her back would exist PURELY out of a desire for sex, because there are plenty of pickmes out there that will use their body to heal his wou…

This shit is so embarrassing for everyone involved. Gf needs to dump him, bf is communal dick and wallet clearly, and the pickme - I will never understand this type of pickme behavior. Vday is spent alone, with girlfriends, or with a committed partner. I get no joy out of a man who clearly doesn't like me enough to commit to me doing these things because it is clearly transactional for sex. If he wanted emotional intimacy from her he wouldn't have a literal gf.

Does the woman not deserve blame for knowingly allowing a man with a gf to do this for her? C'mon now. I do not support women who entertain taken men. They're both trash.

Yep. And now every woman he dates after her will suffer because she's now "the one that got away" despite him not wanting her until another man 'staked his claim' as they say. So vile

I believe most men genuinely don't like to spend time with women, but they are attracted to them so they "put up with it." Look at how easy it is for them to plan out of state boys trips, game nights, superbowl parties, bbqs. Meanwhile for a woman they wanna fuck it's Netflix and chill, thrifting, or a walk. Yea. Get outta here. I have girlfriends I can do that with and they'll actually have fun and make decent conversation.

Yes. You can only blame men for so long. Getting manipulated into staying with a cheater? Sure, yes, that's on the man for cheating in the first place and then manipulating. But quitting your fucking job to raise an affair baby? Genuinely questioning if you're in the wrong for trying to celebrate your birthday while your ex goes to a wedding with his affair partner? Omg. I was going to say that's crazy we are going through such similar things but idk why I even think that anymore, men are so predictable. I recently re-established contact with my avoidant ex (no judgement please, I know it's not HV of me.) Sorry. I guess I didn't explain that well. The narc was avoidant as well, yes, but I found it easier to cope with the loss knowing that mentally he could not feel things for other human beings and his abusive behavior was just who he was. There was no sense of whiplash with him, he never made me feel desired or cared for. The avoidant would switch from intense love and zero desire to interact. It was a complete mindfuck for me and I'm avoiding dating for a long time until I can trust myself to v…

Personally, my LTR relationship with an avoidant man damaged me much more than my relationship with an actual narcissist. The fall out of the relationship with the narc was a lot more dramatic of course but at the end of the day I could tell myself well, he's just like that, yknow? With the avoidant man, the constant hot/cold, feeling like a burden or "too much", comparing myself to his dream life/woman - it has damaged me immensely. I have never doubted or distrusted myself as much as I did whi…

My friend gets called sheltered by our group and I'm the only one who ever sticks up for her. She's never had a boyfriend at 24, never even really considered dating. Her family structure is really supportive and healthy and she's currently in Japan for the next 3 years teaching English and growing her incredible art skills. I'm so envious of her at times because I spent 5 years chasing and supporting deadbeats and was a total pick me. I could've progressed my lifestyle so much in that time and I…

The bar is in hell, truly. I'm trying to come up with a list of qualities I want in a man and so far all I've gotten written down are "provides for himself, honest, loyal" as if those aren't literal bare minimums of a monogamous relationship. And yet no man I've ever dated has accomplished these traits. Lmfao. I've pretty much accepted I'm dying without a romantic partner even though I want one so badly.

Paul Rudd is one of those celebs that irritate me that he gets so much attention for basic looks (a woman could never) however, I don't hold any irritation towards him as a person because like you said he seems normal enough, especially for a male celebrity. He's been in the business forever and hasn't had any scandals that I know of so when someone asks me a famous actor I just fall back on him. LOL

If it's on an app or we havent met in person 24hrs is acceptable. If we've been talking for a while and there's been an indication that a relationship could form, I think 24hrs is generous. It takes literally 5 seconds to send a text. I had this problem in my last relationship and he ended up dumping me and I realized he had been future faking and wasn't invested in me, just what I provided when he felt like getting it. When cats leave shit uncovered in their litter box, it is a sign of disrespect. Most men are smart enough to know they arent cute enough to get away with that, so I view leaving dirty dishes everywhere, not doing their laundry, clothes on the floor etc on that level.

Yes. Men have terrible attention spans and a bad case of "grass is always greener." Idc what they say, they would love to be in harem or sister wives type situations but luckily most women at least have the requirement of exclusivity so if you want the "gf/wifey experience" you've gotta at least pretend to give it back. So that's what they do, pretend. At least I know my cat loves me! And my fish, while not capable of love, are a rewarding project as I'm constantly learning new things about them…

I wish I could say I was surprised that cat ladies are vilified but it is what men hate the most. A woman who has wised up to the fact that men will never emotionally fulfill her, it will always be give give give with no reciprocation bcuz the average man is not wired to love and give the way a woman is. Why wouldn't a woman choose the company of pets? I had a science teacher in middle school, about 50 years old. She had a masters in biology and spent her time caring for exotic birds, lizards, e…

Well it's obviously not hard, if it was hard stay at home moms would refuse and go to work instead, duh! There are zero expectations for fathers - they arent even expected to have good jobs so their wives can focus on being mothers anymore.

Hey, nothing to feel bad about. Sex is just sex at the end of the day, we all have it and enjoy it in different ways. It's pretty easy for me to come from any stimulation, external or internal (my current partner can make me do it in about a minute which is kinda embarrassing) and yet I was in a relationship for nearly 3 years where I didn't come once and frequently wasn't even wet during sex. Question - is it acceptable to... tell the man how you want to be treated and give him time to prove he can do so? Or is needing to tell them how I want to be treated in the first place an issue? Dealing with this right now and the guy genuinely seems HV so I've been giving him credit because every woman has different needs and wants.
