This is not true. All extra muscle will shorten your life. There's a difference between muscle tone (this is ok) and hypertrophy. Why would you have your heart to wear down sending blood to a muscle you don't need? between a weightlifter and a guy who walks 20 minutes a day, the guy who only walks will be infinitely healthier when he's old.
