I feel every bit of that. It’s perhaps a stab in the dark to see how character bleeds. You deserve compassion. You should receive advice. You should also have the reality and the mindset to use that reality as something to stand on and better your mind moving forward

You are absolutely not wrong. Any bit to help, I agree with that. Mean zero criticism just reality of it all

I’m not sure if I’m in the minority, if so I deserve hurt but this whole post screams “get some real problems”. That could be entirely against sub rules but there are legions of people at that absolute brink of disaster that would rob steal and kill for your situation

It’s going to be bitter at first, in the back of your mind any good memories you had were fake. The love was a lie the entire time and you were used for what you could be squeezed of. A positive is that it will answer a lot more questions about the past than you think. That closure can rid you of that bitterness quickly. It’s the time to man up, get your shit together and start over. If and when you do find someone that loves you you’ll be a bit more wise to these things. It will be a relief to …

How long have you two known each other? I’m not insinuating anything but is this a case of “upgrading”? Both you and your bf are mid divorce?

My experience is they definitely do not care. It’s all procedural stuff. If it’s an auxiliary motion to the divorce filing then that’s a different ballgame.

Don’t really care. Dropped. I wouldn’t say I’m happy one of the affair partners died of their addiction but I won’t say I’m sad either. World works in mysterious ways.

I’m sure this is going to be 50/50 in support and not (pun intended) but grow up and have fun doing what they want to do and what you like to do that is accessible to them. That or just fuck off from them and take a low effort route you’ll certainly regret.

31, I initiated. Never wanted it to get that far but after 10 years of struggling to get the same commitment you know when you’re not going to change anything. Rerunning the same heartaches on replay, it’s just not worth it. You can love someone while still knowing they won’t put their effort or heart into it. I can blame everything from toxic/modern feminism and entitlement to my own short comings - but honestly, I did my part and so much more with nothing to show but an amazing kid. It’s so ci…

Marriage isn’t really about love, it’s a social contract to be a team. The sentiment of not wanting to be a house wife but becoming one could be problematic. Been there, crazy levels of background contempt towards myself as I encouraged them to be the best they could and be the person they said they wanted to be when we got married. I guess the best way to look at it is, can you be OK with the person just being a good person, do you trust them not to cash in on a divorce? If you’re doing that mu…

This is so true, words fed into head but execution of effort never felt

I initiated. I tripped onto something, then 6 months later after giving the benefit of the doubt I found hiding of information and lying to my face. Pile that on with general spite and contempt and I filed the next day
