I think that to truly be "alpha" means that you are being yourself. If you are just acting "alpha" then you're not actually alpha but you'll sure fool everyone around you if done right. To truly be "alpha" means you've worked on self-improvement enough that you don't need to think about what or how to act, you're making your own decisions and leading your social groups, or perhaps letting other people lead when the time is right, and providing fun for everyone.

I do this trick too, all the time! :) I suck at fake smiling, so instead I usually wave and give the head lift as if I was saying "what's up". This simple act usually forces me to smile involuntarily, it gives off the emotion of happiness and good-will, which is an easy way to lead into a conversation, and usually leaves a great first impression of you.

Eh. Women aren't just sitting ducks like back in the 1800s. Since the woman's rights movement things have been changing, and especially since the age of the internet. Women still have a lot of the psychological "sitting duck" mentality (which explains why they spend so much time on fashion and compete with each other) but their minds have evolved a lot in the last 80ish years or so and the game has changed. With respect, I think this routine is a good one to have built into your memory banks to be used at the right time.
