This sub is ridiculously closeminded and sexist. You don't need need to be brought up by specific genders, it's all arbitrary. You don't need to act like your gender, people only do because they are pressured into it. Boy's don't "think" any way, we're all just humans. We're capable of using our brains to understand each other. People are all different and you can't understand someone just because you know their gender. If your gender summarizes your entire personality and identity, then you don…

authors reply on blog: I recently read the book, but honestly wasn’t thinking of it when I wrote this. I’ve been teaching my clients this habit for a long time and have gotten more questions on it in the last few weeks, which is what inspired the post. You’re probably right about the example slipping in there subconsciously I will say, if I remember it correctly, she recommends remembering a fact about where you’re from. That might extend conversation, but what actually allows you to connect wit…

I think they're probably just making sure you're over 18 because they want to have intercourse with you.

Not a turn off, but to people who don't understand computers, hacking is a scary term, he might have thought you were going to hack him. I don't think you turned him off, I think you scared him off... Don't change though, plenty of guys would love to have a girl like you.

Tell her you're sorry, and that you were just really nervous.

If you spend so much time together and enjoy each other so much that there really would be no difference if you were 'serious' or not, then you might as well make it official. Just my opinion.

Depends on the girl really, but a comedy is your best bet. Some hate romantic comedies, some may not like offensive comedy, some may not like 'guy humor'. Figure that out first.

I went to college for a year, wish I hadn't wasted it never talking to anyone. Talk to everyone. Smile, say hi. Sit with random people when you eat. Talk to the people next to you. Watch how other people talk, just do the same. My technique is to just ask questions, those are easy. Hey how's it going, hey what's up did you do the homework? did you do the reading whats your major? is this your least favorite class or is that just me?

Ignore your friend, my friends said the same thing after I talked to girl one day, went back the next day and talked to her again and now we're very close. Judge by the reactions of the people you talk to , not your friends.

Giving up is important. Don't ever give up on something before you even try, but you have to know when to say when, otherwise you will spend your whole life waiting. If she doesn't like you now, she won't magically love you later, "loved me for 3 years even though I didn't love him" isn't something girls look for in guys. You will just be sad and desperate and afraid. When you love someone it always seems like you'll never find anyone as great, but you will, ive been proved wrong twice

The best way to practice is to go somewhere where there's a bunch of people you'll never see again. Then it doesn't matter!

I'm not trying to be anti Gay, it really doesn't bother me, but is jokingly being Gay/feminine a good idea to do in front of a girl you like? What if that's what she thinks of you, or can't tell you're joking?

Work on yourself first. Then go somewhere with people you'll never see again and practice. It takes a while to build up, but remember that as long as you keep stepping forward you'll get there eventually.

If you can't take light jokes like this you're probably not ready for a relationship. Or you're dumb.

It's better than sup, anything that can start a conversation off with a light tone is good for me. It's much funner to joke/flirt with someone who also can joke / flirt.

So it's okay to have sex early-ish on in a relationship, in fact better? Most people think that sex will ruin or complicate things, but sounds like this suggests the opposite. Is it true?

Great read and I agree with you! And to add to number 4, even if the person you're talking to might not be the one, they might be friends with the one! But either way, don't make the decision before you get to know them! Just let it happen naturally. I know that's hard for us introverts that over think every thing, but if you've gotta try! Have a nice life OP!

Maybe it's because she had a boyfriend? It's not like she would be going around giving her number out anyway. It's like saying he missed the goal on the net that doesn't exist.

Find out if she likes you as soon as you can, if she does, cool, if she doesn't, give up on her and move on to the next girl. Life's too short to waste on chasing people who don't feel the same way about you, especially when there probably are some out there that would love you. I did the same thing in high school, 3 years. What a waste.
