I agree that it's safe to assume there's some influence from sexism on women's athletics, but I think it is a small one compared to the biological differences. My solution to that is a simple one: raise my daughter the same as my son (with regards to athletics). Unfortunately she has absolutely no interest in sports (because they involve sweating), while my son couldn't be kept out of sports if I tried.

I have to say, I would not grab her fist. I think that was his biggest mistake. I mean put your hand up so you can easily block it, if you think she might actually do some damage with a punch.
