You caught her cheating, and she isn’t remorseful about it because she wants the divorce…. It’s time to let her go, as hard as it may be..

“I really like her more than any of the other women I’ve dated” You felt the same about your ex wife at some point I’m sure. Taking it slow would be the logical thing to do here. You can do practically everything that you can do married, unmarried.

Invest in a body camera, and wear it every time you’ll be interacting with her. Regardless, she’s only acting out due to karma hitting her.

Whatever you do, don’t use counseling that’s ran by a church. I’ve found that those tend to push reconciliation even if it is truly not the best route.

Promiscuity is heavily encouraged amongst women nowadays… it’s something that hasn’t sat right with me either, but it’s the way of the world now.

For your own good, I wouldn’t touch her until the divorce is finalized…

Best of luck brother!

Play her game. Have a nicely dressed, attractive woman over at the house when she comes to pick up the kids. That’d probably make your ex shit herself. Or, understand that she’s doing this as a coping mechanism to get under your skin. The more unbothered you seem, the more bothered it will make her.

Social media gave my stbx this unrealistic sense of entitlement.

Just get the divorce if you want to date.

Your response to her is fine. There’s no point of reconciling since she’s cheated on you already. — I understand that you had a drinking problem during the marriage, but she allowed another man to get in between her legs while legally being your wife.

Brother, focus on your mental wellbeing, and healing first…

I made a comment about you being a bad father, but I deleted it. — I’d rather help you instead. Regardless, don’t give her full custody, just offer her more custody. 70/30 for example. — Once you adjust, make the attempt to up the custody to the original 50/50.

glad you’re making the needed moves. you deserve so much better mate.

i’d argue that it’s more about the woman’s maturity. there are women with kids even, who’d behave like the women you’d dated without kids. do better at gauging maturity levels before investing time.

right on brother, best of luck with this situation

tell the ex that the watch needs to stay at her place during your time. she has no right tracking your every move. i’d also offer your child a new watch that she can have, when she’s at your house.

it feels like something’s missing here….

if her partner is in any way shape or form abusive towards her, then I would.
/r/Divorce_Men14/08/24 02:57 AM

sounds like the ex is too far into the pregnancy, to make that suggestion.

tell her to call you whenever she feels overwhelmed so that you can pickup the kids, regardless of the time. tell her to find a therapist or life coach to assist with her mental battles. she cheated on you, and now she’s getting her karma… don’t try to be there as a “friend”, be there as a cordial co parent.

“miss wife” correction, ex wife who cheated on you.. you’re giving her too much grace.

taking her back would only show a lack of respect for yourself, so i’m glad you’re filing. feel free to refer to my recent post regarding her not taking accountability…

I don’t know man.. i’ve seen Women who are mostly loyal, act out (cheat) when they aren’t getting their way at home, and they’ve been presented with the right option..
/r/Divorce_Men08/08/24 10:59 PM

it’s tough to fully trust her, after growing apart the way that we have..
/r/Divorce_Men08/08/24 10:57 PM

what particular things would warrant me having Leverage in the relationship? I’ve been a good man, treated her well, and supported her as a stay at home Mother for the last 3 years… to her, that becomes irrelevant when things aren’t going her way though.
/r/Divorce_Men08/08/24 10:54 PM

as far as physical attractiveness: getting in shape will make you a million times more attractive… so I would start there. a good skin care routine will do justice for you as well.
/r/Divorce_Men04/08/24 08:47 AM

so do you have kids already or not?
/r/Divorce_Men02/08/24 04:48 AM

she was unable to take any sort of accountability for her wrong doings, and she was always “right”. I ended up losing total respect for her, and my resentment continued to grow over the years. i’m still going through the process now, the earlier stages.. but i’m ready to be free from dealing with her.

at some point you felt this way about your ex too.. don’t let the honeymoon phase trick you into marriage. move in together first, and see how that goes for a few years before considering remarrying. you don’t truly know if you’re compatible until you cohabitate.
/r/Divorce_Men27/07/24 06:49 PM

trust me, this scenario plays in my head often. while work is expected to be a place for professionalism, it’s also a place that causes probably most affairs…
/r/Divorce_Men27/07/24 06:59 AM

biggest red flag was how easily influenced by others my stbx was/is. it’s a recipe for disaster when a woman is easily knocked off balance due to following what’s “popular”.
/r/Divorce_Men27/07/24 06:04 AM

you’re exactly right mate. winning the mental part is what really sets us ahead in the long run.

more life brother.. stay strong

perfectly said. regarding the “finding me” phase that women go through, i’ve seen that exact scenario play out EVERY single time.

someone probably fucked her over so now she’s panicking to try and save the marriage. i’d tell her to stop reaching out unless it’s specifically about picking up the kids, or any other serious matter involving the kids.

after being in your shoes before, and then experiencing the marital aspect of it.. it’s hard for me to genuinely encourage anyone to get married. if you do however get married, be sure to protect any assets. who knows, maybe yours ends up being a happily ever after situation.. or maybe you’ll be here asking for advice after some time. there is a risk either way.

start small brother. make a commitment to go to the gym 1 day this week. when you’re ready, move it up to 2 days a week. start small, baby steps..

gotcha… i’m glad you’re out of there mate. thanks for sharing.

this was so perfectly said. quite the encouragement for me, as someone who’s worried about the divorce process due to my kids.
/r/Divorce_Men20/06/24 01:24 AM

my marriage is missing all of the things that you “miss”. if those things were already there, i’m assuming infidelity was the reason for your split?
/r/Divorce_Men20/06/24 01:22 AM
2

this right here. accurate.
/r/Divorce_Men18/06/24 05:45 PM

I think the fact that she can up and relocate with the kid is huge. that alone would make me push for 50/50, but I see where you’re coming from.
/r/Divorce_Men18/06/24 05:44 PM

exactly why i’m renting now..
/r/Divorce_Men17/06/24 05:25 AM

it sounds like she’s saying that because she herself wants to move on.

oh lord..
/r/Divorce_Men16/06/24 07:05 AM

so if he’s tired of being married and wants new life experiences, he should stay and cheat? or stay and live in regret?

“the women will come” not necessarily. especially if OP isn’t putting himself out there.

agreed brother..

modern feminism. women are being led to prioritize their careers and personal desires over starting a family or relying on a man for companionship. many will have with this mindset until they hit their 40s and all they’ve got going for themselves is more wrinkles, a good job, and a few cats… yet still feeling very unfulfilled in their lives.
/r/Divorce_Men29/05/24 08:11 AM
6

her whole purpose sounds like it was to get under your skin… don’t let her see that she did, whatever you do. your daughter will still be properly honored by you, and that’s what matters most. assuming that you don’t have any other children with your stbx, i’d go complete gray rock with her, and completely cut her off once the divorce is finalized.
/r/Divorce_Men20/05/24 03:29 PM
3

hold off on any sex until the divorce (or reconciliation) is finalized
/r/Divorce_Men14/05/24 11:11 AM
7

she’s your ex wife, at most i’d suggest maybe sending the kids back to her with something small, if you’d like to acknowledge her. showing up at her job just wasn’t smart, as she is your ex wife, and does not deserve that type of validation any longer.
/r/Divorce_Men13/05/24 08:24 AM

take time to heal brother. better is to come for you, I’m claiming it now.
/r/Divorce_Men07/05/24 11:19 PM
10

I’d only concern yourself if she seems unfit to take care of your children… otherwise, she’s someone else’s problem to deal with.
/r/Divorce_Men07/05/24 05:50 PM
8

“I am going through my grieving and healing process deliberately and I have no interest in being with another woman right now.” this is the best thing that you can do. it stings, her true colors are showing, but guess what? she’s somebody else’s problem now… you don’t want that kind of energy in your corner. better will come my man, take the time to heal, and let time do it’s job…
/r/Divorce_Men06/05/24 11:59 PM

there are too many women out there for you to settle down with a woman who’d have this amount of baggage.. you want your partner to be an upgrade to your life.
