I went with my wife and son to a maternal health checkup. The walls were covered in posters and info for women regarding women’s health, etc. They were kind enough to have a corner dedicated to men’s issues though. The issue was: Domestic Abuse? Any invading army is going to be chastised by Big Red types, and given the cold shoulder. It's possible that the friends of the invaders will be slept with, which will lower morale pretty badly. The invasionary ground force will dig their own latrines, then get told they have to be gender neutral, before being told they should be women's only as they may be pissing on the seats. Correct. I sort of understand their reasoning. There are plenty of unfit people with an inner fit person who needs to be coaxed out. Lowering the barrier to entry helps those in this category. It doesn't lower the standard of trained recruits though. It might mean the fitness instructors have a harder time with new recruits, but they already spend all their spare time waxing their legs, this won't hurt them. Kapooka.

Worth noting this is just for the primary fitness assessment (PFA), which is pretty much the easiest one you can do if you join the Army. Once you're in, there is so much PT, and so many other requirements, that if the recruit makes it to the end of Kapooka, they'll be fit enough. If not, they'll be discharged during basic/tb1.
