Again, you are only talking about legality and not morality. They are two totally different things and I don't care to debate law. Consent is absolutely not a line in the sand. If I consent to bungee jump and I stand there and don't want to do it, I can always turn back. Consent isn't binding. Also, in law they do look at someone's capacity to consent. So I don't know why you bring up law when it favors you and then don't when it doesn't... My example was to demonstrate that consent can be withd…

Law isn't static. Law is made by policy makers, politicians. Law is a, sadly slow changing, reflection of how we wish to interact with each other in society. Laws change with time and place. They are not a good basis to base you morality or conception of right and wrong upon. Also, I think it is questionable that you think that people who are cognitively impaired, either by nature or by substance, can consent. My countries law only classifies something as rape if there is evidence of a physical altercation, which makes rape when unconscious legally not rape. So I really don't care about when something is a crime or not. I care about socially permitable/moral behaviors. So what feminism is "trying to convince me of" is that: 1) consent should be devoid of coercion and most preferably devoid of power dynamics (e.g. a boss aski…

Legality doesn't equal morality. If I am having sex and something happens that makes me change my mind or I say I want sex, but when it actually comes to doing it I change my mind and I make this clear and then my partner/whomever I was/would have sex with doesn't stop or forces themselves upon my under the pretence that I had given consent before, then it becomes rape. Consent can be withdrawn at any moment. I don't have to have sex if I don't want to. It's really not that difficult to understa…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
