I’m sorry about your mom, that’s awful and I’m glad you’re doing well. I’m 27 so not much older than you so take this friendly ok. This guy sounds a bit like he wants his cake and eat it too. Mom raised the kids AND was the breadwinner? Absolutely not. Mom can raise the kids and work, mom shouldnt raise the kids and be the breadwinner. He isn’t in his masculine energy. He sounds frankly like he wants the best of both worlds, he wants a woman who’s soft and feminine but also willing to go 50/50 o…

Yep, before I’d even go to dinner with him I told him I wanted marriage, at least 1 baby, to own a home, etc. He agreed - we went out, quickly fell in love. Nope, told him my expectations and we agreed on what we were looking for and a timeline. I knew when he had the ring because he wanted me to confirm I liked it before he got it engraved, but other than that nothing. He planned so many lovely dates so I never knew when it was coming, but I never really checked in. Yep, did it all. I never wen…

Knows when to shut up, and knows when to talk. If he’s able to speak his mind and share something insightful and doesn’t need to always share his entire life.

I plan, shop, prepare, cook and clean up after all of our meals. I never feel resentment because he is always excited for my cooking, always compliments it and makes me feel appreciated. I also try to remember that I never pump my own gas, I never carry the groceries, right now I’m super pregnant and he’s working to support us which allows me to stay home and focus on our baby, and when it’s night time and we hear a noise he always investigates it. I think it’s the balance between cooking being …

My husband and I dated when I was 18 and he was 21, we broke up as we were moving to opposite sides of the country and knew it wasn’t sustainable. I’m 27 now but we reconnected in February and by August we were engaged! It’s possible to have a break and come back to a successful relationship but the people involved need to be same page. It depends why you broke up, what work you’ve done in the meantime to address the issues for the break up, what are your goals, what are his goals, do your value…

There’s nothing wrong with you, and yes I have a wonderful husband but I am still a deeply flawed person. I did a lot of work and became better but I still suck sometimes, I have a lot of terrible habits that I’m sure drive my husband absolutely crazy, but that’s kind of the point, we’re all people. You’re never going to be perfect and you’ll never meet a perfect person. Work on the parts you’re not proud of, and the work never stops. We’re married and I still go to therapy, we still have to apo…

Like, women who read tarot cards and charge their crystals in the moonlight. A crystal girlie. I don’t say that as an insult, I think that women find comfort where they can and if that provides them comfort and guidance, fantastic. I just as a general rule don’t fall into that genre. The only thing I do believe is the energy you put out there is the energy you receive back!

I reached a point where I would rather be alone than ever compromise on what I was worth, and then it was easy to find my lovely husband. I’m not a crystal girlie but I really think that I did the work, put my best self out there and things just worked out.

Late 24, my anxiety disappeared, I lost weight, my cycles regulated, I got to meet me for the first time.

On birth control, I married a man who couldn’t change a light bulb if his life depended on it. A man once bumped into me and he said nothing. He was out of shape, terrible job, chronic weed smoker and cheater. Came off birth control, got divorced and am now married to an incredibly handsome man, hard working, fixes everything in our home and handles all our outdoor chores. I’ve never carried our groceries or built a thing from ikea, also gainfully employed.

Honestly I continued to do the work while my husband and I were dating. I set boundaries on time together if I had therapy, and even if he came to my city I made time for the gym. It gave us really healthy boundaries and now being married, we’re able to step aside and have time for ourselves and we never feel neglected. I don’t know that it’s not being feminine enough, I think maybe I benefitted because I’m very honest so even from the first date, we were same page about marriage, babies, the bi…

TW: loss I got divorced in October 2021, he was cheating and abandoned me after a miscarriage. He was abusing drugs which caused the loss, and tried to manipulate my faith to make me stay. I consulted all the women in my family and they all agreed - God would not want me to stay where I’m being treated like that. After the divorce, I connected with a man who was kind and patient and to be honest - it scared the life out of me and I ran far and fast. He was patient, and waited for me. I did the w…
