No, I haven't quantified and qualified every advantage against every disadvantage. Then why in the world are you spouting off about "male privilege" if -- as you yourself stated -- you haven't even bothered to "quantify" it? Are you going by your feelings? Well I'm afraid we'll need something more substantive than that. Especially if we're going to use said feelings that males are "privileged" to discriminate against males. See the problem here? You are NOT. BEING. RATIONAL.

Pretty much every western country is a signatory to CROC which requires them to specifically legislate that the rights of the child are paramount. Pretty sure North Korea calls itself a democracy. Irrelevant. Don't forget also that divorce/custody is a multi-billion dollar industry. I'm a feminist and I absolutely support shared parenting Then you are a dissident "feminist" who disagrees with the position of your leaders, ie the people who have actual power and affect policy. Perhaps you should …

There are some men's advocates who do say that women are inherently inferior. They aren't mainstream Can you give me an example? Anti-MRA clowns like Roosh V don't count. And I'm not talking about trolls on the Internet. Tumblr feminists don't count either. If you're arguing that some people who are interested in Mens issues are misogynists then sure, that's inevitable. But I see no organizational push on behalf of MRA's to deny women rights, whereas feminists are quite explicit about denying me…

If you have not noticed an influx of He-Man Woman-Hater's Club members in the last 6 months you are either turning a blind eye or you are not frequenting the comments. Okay, but I'm not talking about dipshits online. Can you name a prominent MRA who has advocated femicide? Can you name me an MRA who claims that men are inherently superior to women? I'm not talking about marginal feminists here. Elizabeth Cady Stanton created the first feminist conference in American history. She wrote in her dia…

The two topics while similar overall are apples and oranges in detail. Indeed. One's legal in most countries and the other is illegal in almost all countries. How many baby girls died from FGM last year? Hundreds if not thousands of boys die from MGM every year. The stats are difficult to come by, but over 400 boys have died from MGM in South Africa alone since 2008. So yeah, big difference.

Being an actual leftist in the current climate is hell. The left has been taken over by man hating feminists and bourgeois identitarian loons who will literally sit there and argue with you over the relative "privilege" of a cis straight white male homeless veteran. The more cynical side of me thinks this was by design. I mean it's hard to miss all that cash pumped into "gender studies" by the Ford and Rockefeller foundations back in the 70's.

I'm aware of NOW's disgusting excuses (eg calling father's rights group "abusers lobbies"). Ironic considering NOW is the biggest enabler of child abuse in the western world. https://www.thestar.com/life/2017/09/07/for-children-of-divorced-parents-quality-of-parent-child-relationships-trumps-everything-else.html] Children in shared custody arrangements “do considerably better on every measure, from school success, to fewer teen pregnancies and drug use, to having optimism for the future,” said D…

shit-talking feminism and women in general? Feminists are a small minority of the population because most women don't hate men. In the UK I think the number is down to 7 percent. You may be surprised to learn that many MRA's (including myself) used to be feminists. Then we studied the history of the movement and the continued opposition by feminists to real gender actuality and decided to act. We would like nothing more than if feminists supported reforms. They don't. They are the establishment.

Here is a list of ways in which feminist organizations have explicitly opposed gender equality. The one thing I will say though - courts in most western countries favour the rights of the child. That's absurd. Dozens of studies have shown shared parenting to be in the best interests of the child. In fact not a single study has concluded otherwise. Feminists explicitly oppose shared parenting (equality). You are viewing custody arrangements through an outdated, unscientific feminist lens that reg…

I don't want to get too far into your assertions about what feminists want, as I'm sure you could cite individual quotes for days No not quotes. I'm talking about shared parenting legislation, proposed in numerous countries, successfully opposed by feminist organizations time and time and time again. Opposition to shared parenting is actually the official position of NOW, the largest feminist organization in the world. It is feminists -- and feminists only -- who oppose equal parenting rights an…

Yes correct. That's not "family in one piece." Well shared parenting is a lot closer to "once piece" than the current situation, whereby fathers are routinely denied access to their children. There is also reason to believe that shared parenting (and alimony reform) would keep more families intact because there would not be financial and other incentives for women to divorce (women initiate most divorces). In both cases children are best served by granting fathers equal rights -- which feminists…

Yeah, there are literally zero misogynists that absolutely hate women within the MR movement. Name some. I'll wait. Whereas feminists frequently express a desire to see men placed in concentration camps or killed (some do so earnestly, eg the founder of the first gender studies class, Sally Miller Gearhart), there are no counterparts among MRA's. And the modern feminist that advocates keeping politicians out of her medical decisions is definitely full of hatred. They don't seem remotely interest…

So you can't name legal privileges that men have. I can name legal privileges that women have, eg the right not have their genitals mutilated and the right to vote without being subject to conscription. I can also name dozens of social and de facto legal privileges that women have. Your little list is just silly and most of the items are either upside down or simply don't exist at all. Look at how the justice system treats young white men versus young black men. There is not a large difference. …

You made the asinine statement that men were somehow "in power" for the last several hundred years, apparently unaware that most men weren't David Rockefeller or JP Morgan. I corrected you. Show some grace when someone takes the time to correct your faulty beliefs. Wage slavery - the ultimate insult. This has certainly been the opinion of most workers throughout history. What gains we have won came at the expense of thousands of dead people. Most of them working class males. To quote Frederick D…

Heh. Well, this sub is made up of more or less equal parts left and right wing. Depending on the day you can find up-voted posts supportive of socialism, or up-voted posts supportive of capitalism. Or neither or both or somewhere inbetween. I agree that it's utterly absurd to think the people who run the word are "communists", but that's what decades of cold war propaganda will do.

Shared parenting rights.
/r/MensRights13/11/17 06:35 PM

Wrong. It's based on continued feminist opposition to equal parenting rights. Dozens of studies have shown shared parenting to be in the best interests of the child, yet feminists have opposed every single bill that would grant fathers the same rights as mothers.

I mean this place is like 30% men’s rights and 70% hating feminism. Feminists literally oppose men achieving equal rights. They have fought against every single men's rights initiative. They are the bigots, not people who express righteous anger at them for standing in the way of equality. Most people on this actually used to be feminists before studying the history.

Wrong. [Sen] observes that India and China had "similarities that were quite striking" when development planning began 50 years ago, including death rates. "But there is little doubt that as far as morbidity, mortality and longevity are concerned, China has a large and decisive lead over India" (in education and other social indicators as well). He estimates the excess of mortality in India over China to be close to 4 million a year: "India seems to manage to fill its cupboard with more skeleton…

Heh. I'm a socialist. Nice try. I'm simply observing that if you blame "white males" for all of society's problems you shouldn't be surprised when they revert to their own form of identity politics. And moreover the feminist movement has become reactionary whereas MRA's argue for perfectly sensible progressive reforms such as shared parenting.

not every woman you are going to date or sleep with is going to turn around and accuse you of rape. Sorry, just not going to happen. Not every woman you marry is going to accuse you of domestic violence to take your kids. Etc. Of course not. MRA's should ideally not blame women "as a class" but from now on I'm going to send you a PM every time I see a comment in /r/mensrights that started with "women __" or "women are _" Unfortunately incel types will occasionally post here. Come on. Conspiracy theories? I don't think you know what the term "conspiracy theory" means. People can't see their bad luck for what it is...an outstanding dose of bad luck that they turn around and project on the entire female gender or even the world. This is absurd. (a) laws that discriminate against men are not a matter of "luck". (b) whereas feminists blame men "as a class", MRA's do not blame women "as a class". Maybe some MGTOW types do. So you have it exactly backwards.

There is a new documentary out called "American circumcision". Watch it. While you're at it, note that over 400 boys have died from the procedure in South Africa alone since 2008. That in itself should be enough to outlaw the procedure.

I've seen it on front page posts Ironically the misogyny only comes when we make it to R/all. That strongly suggests that it is non-MRA's who make such comments.

In case you haven't noticed we are living in a capitalist society. Hell American politicians won't even tolerate a living wage. Feminism and ID politics were funded by the Ford and Rockefeller foundations back in the 70's. Corporate America funds new feminist initiatives daily. Unless you think the folks at Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan are actually communists you may want to consider whether the communist bogeyman is really to blame. Feminists and SJW's are just useful idiots for the plutocracy. …

The psychologist Tom Golden made an interesting video on this topic. He notes that the modern feminist movement has ALL the characteristics of a hate movement, whereas MRA's have none.

Yes. Feminists ruthlessly exploit the male protective instinct while simultaneously claiming to "break down gender roles." In fact their whole movement is a gargantuan exercise in damselling. It's really quite disgusting when you think about it. The conservative woman wonders: "Where's their protest? Will they not speak out even in self defence?" There's not a lot the average man can do about this. If men speak up in favor of fairness and due process we are accused of being "misogynists" and "ra…

I say I'm a WRA and a MRA: a women's rights advocate as well as a men's rights advocate. Then I try to focus on specific issues -- eg shared parenting. I stress that it shouldn't be viewed as a contest and that gender equality will be beneficial to both sexes. The stigma is rapidly declining, in my experience. If anything I've found that most people are quite receptive -- and I live in Canada! We get a false impression about the popularity of feminism by the media. Too many men are being chicken…

There are a few academics who have challenged feminism, eg Paul Nathanson and Katherine Young and David Benetar. There are also biologists and evolutionary psychologists whose work undercuts feminist theory. And there are even feminist academics whose work has challenged their previous beliefs; I'm thinking for example of the feminists who have studied in group/out group bias between the sexes; or that women who discovered that it is primarily women who enforce the male gender role.

Men police other men. Eg if men see a man hitting a woman they will intercede. Women seem to have a tendency of only policing other women when it's in their own self-interest (eg slut shaming). It's a real problem because as Peterson points out, men have no effective way of dealing with "crazy women", and now said crazy women (feminists) are creating laws at the state level (with their white knight enablers). A lot of women are saying "I'm not a feminist" but they're not organizing into effectiv…

I've noticed that almost none of the people who've adjusted their views on feminism were "argued into" it. I know people who began to question feminism after watching Karen Straughan's videos. The logic appealed to them.
