Exactly! The way he treats you suggests that he expects you to wise up and dump him eventually, and that he's just enjoying the ride (not an uncommon approach of old men who end up dating younger girls who are out of their league)...stop talking to him, and see how long it takes for him to get in touch.

All true. Even the poorest men like to spend money on girls---that said, many of them have ambivalent feelings and convoluted views of this phenomenon, and flip back and forth in the extrapolations they make. The best thing you can do is hold him to a high standard of generosity, and not waver for a second. I'm in my early 30s, and completely see it. I attribute the shift (which is not to say that women have ever had it great, but the low key resentment so many young guys have against women now is real, and alarming) to several things, but a major one is the wide availability of free, hardcore porn. Exactly! When I was single, I wouldn't even fuck a man who didn't demonstrate that he would be a good provider. Why not? Because I'm not attracted to guys who can't provide me a better life. This is spot-on. In my experience, guys who have something going for them like a challenge, and in general, feel more invested in you when they actually put out effort. The poster who said that men always try to lowball you is also right...so, there are these two conflicting inclinations, and you have to appeal the first one, and not tolerate the second.
