A profession doesn't need to add anything to society. Simply put, a profession is a paid occupation that usually requires some kind of formal training. (Not necessarily) What value to society do brand managers, public relations managers, and countless other middle management administration positions add? I think there's more effort in these cam girls dolling their selves up than a middle manager clocking in and watching YouTube on their work computer for a few hours.

I dont agree. Especially in regards to the penal system comparison. It's been proven time and time again that the threat of harsh punishment does not deter crime. (Seriously, if you search for it there are tons of studies) I also dispute your claim that they are reasonable. There has been growing calls to reevaluate our justice system for decades.
