Being a gay male, the biggest difference I notice is that advocacy among lesbians (academic and activist) tends to be an offshoot of sociology, while comparable academic and activist advocacy among gay men tends to be an offshoot of political history. 1	How do you guys respond to "and who set that system up?" arguement? Treating everyone as “interchangeable” is not optimal for survival and happiness when you could divide everyone up into “men” and “women,” taking advantage of differences in sex-based characteristics as a way to differentiate roles within our civilization.
