I've struggled with approach too but the anxiety isn't always rooted in fear of rejection. For me it manifests mostly from embarrassment/shame expressing those feelings and desires in front of other people. Not just the girl, often it's being anxious over anyone else around in a public place that could hear or observe the interaction when I approach a girl I'm attracted to. Sounds dumb but it's a tough mental hurdle sometimes.

The 'letting go' of negative self image/thoughts is something I've heard people say. And I'm sure for good reason. But personally I tend to use these negative preconceptions about myself and how others view me as a powerful source of motivation in several aspects of my life. Yea I've struggled with this my entire life. Main reason why at one point the only way I could effectively talk to girls was at least 3 drinks in. Hoping to work on this in therapy but (other) personal issues and covid have kinda derailed that
