I got one of those for commenting on a thread about prostate cancer. I'm high risk due to family history. As a result I keep an eye on men's subs because they have posted relevant health information in the past. After the ban I responded to the mods per that message explaining that the discussion I participated in was related to my own health concerns. I needn't have bothered. No response and the ban stayed. Not that I really care.

I've been helped by having decent health providers who let me "push" or steer a little. I work in a field that deals with medical stuff (SSA disability). So I know a bit more than the average bear. Therefore they know that I'm basing things on what I know from my years on the job. I do appreciate the kind words. Maybe I'll get lucky and all the bad prostate genes will cancel each other out. I'm not going to do an AMA, but if anyone has any questions about the SSA disability process and is readin…

I'm fine right now. PSA is low too. It's mainly family history combined with some other issues/warning signs. I had a biopsy several years ago because an MRI showed an "anomaly". It was benign. I actually wanted it to be positive because I would rather fight it younger than older. My bio dad had it in his 40s and while he survived, the treatment caused long term issues. He just slowly declined over the years until pneumonia got him. Both GFs had it. One treated successfully and the other died wh…

I avoid it anyway. I try to be reasonable in every sub I'm in. They're little to nothing objectionable in my history, except for sports stuff.

I responded to a post on one of the male-oriented subs relating to prostate cancer. I got a PM stating that I was perma-banned from that sub. The PM did say I could respond if I felt it was in error. I responded and told them that I follow several men's subs because they will post information and news about prostate cancer that is ignored elsewhere. I'm very high risk and if I had to count on 2X for health information I'd be dead.

I found that often the best strategy is to go further left. Like far enough to disagree with the Prof/teacher. Outflank them that way. It can be fun and you learn more about what they think.

Maybe it's best to err on the side of 21+. You know, just to be safe ;)

It's unlikely that she can be prevented. If she was able to pull off the scam in the first place, she will likely do something fraudulent in the future.

Depends on the State. Likely that she will not be able to as NY was a pioneer of "Son of Sam laws".

At the time McEnroe was considered entertaining, but not in a positive way by many. People look back now at him as a kind of character. My family used to watch a lot of tennis when he was playing and none of them saw him as other than childish. His behavior was never seen as a positive. Even today my mom would say he was a jerk.

I think they were arguing that some people would prefer to have women come for service calls. Basically the stay at home mom might be more comfortable with a lady electrician or plumber being in the house alone with them.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
