Literally got a response that admitted they don't want total equality, just cherry picked equality.

The sad thing is the thing they're adhering to - the fact there's only two biological sexes - is, well, an actual fact. One of only a handful feminists actually hold onto.

bro yes they did, they immediately changed the subject lol because muh feelings I got banned for saying patriarchy doesn't exist, too. Because I'm sick of feminists saying that's why men have problems.

Went to AskFeminists, they still said nothing about the conviction gap. Got banned. Today was a good day.

Well, I mean, that's to be expected. Even in countries where rape isn't this bullshit definition women get lighter punishments than men for the same crime. But go on about how the "wage gap" is the important topic. Feminists say nothing about a "conviction gap".

women being able to rape men in some countries (probably most) without getting thrown in prison. Fact. It's legally impossible for a woman to rape a man in the UK, as the definition specifies the rapist must insert a penis. From Metropolitan Police: The legal definition of rape is when a person intentionally penetrates another's vagina, anus or mouth with a penis, without the other person's consent. Assault by penetration is when a person penetrates another person's vagina or anus with any part …

It's also a dumb thing to mock men for, parenting kids that aren't biologically theirs. That's a weird section of the Internet I don't "get". But they're out there. Probably in here, too.

This follows this patriarchal socialization model. That's the point. It's acquiescing while staying "true" to your beliefs. That's why, whenever you mention men's issues, they go "well of course, because patriarchy". Not shame, not toxic femininity, not the economy, not anything that actually causes our issues and actually, you know, exists. It's called cognitive dissonance. It's very prevalent.
/r/MensRights27/08/23 06:25 AM

Oh, we're definitely getting there. And I appreciate your education and compassion in mentioning these topics to your classmates. I'm looking at building an org for men but no idea where to start, so you've got a leg up on me there. All the best for your studies and the clinic.

As a bi male I like guys who are taller than I am because I feel like they'd protect me. That's my guy instinct when I first see them, but I'm also a guy so I know it's actually who they are that will protect me or not, whereas women are thinking of the baby-making aspect and expect protection because tall And if that's not the case, it's "simply a preference". So's this: you not being a judgemental bitch. That's one of my preferences! <3

I made a joke and one of the responses was "incel vibez" But let misandrists continue with this narrative. Let them prove that society sees men only as expendable and seed-providers, and if men don't have sex and don't have children then they're failures as men. Let them continue with this narrative. It proves everything we're fighting against.

My only concern is socialising, but I'm sure I'll find a way to do that, because I have met some people who were homeschooled as kids and they're...odd. To say the least. But the pandemic and quarantining kind of proved you don't need to shuffle kids off to a building to learn. The initial stages of the pandemic proved a lot of our daily activities can be negated pretty easily But yeah hopefully I can have support of dear friends and their partners and homeschool my own kids while making movies,…

Domme is a name for a dominant woman in kink/fetish circles, hence the "except in the bedroom" bit. I plan on homeschooling my future kids. I was eaten alive by the school system and I refuse to allow that to happen to any dependents of mine.

I want a woman who carries 50% of my partnership with her. I want a woman who can pay for things if she can, and wants kids. I want someone who will listen to me, who will help me problem solve, who I can listen to, who I can help problem solve. I want someone who wants to be an equal, not a domme (except in the bedroom).

They should just say it anyway. I'm being dogpiled on facebook about a quote from Lolita as I were the author. Women are too sensitive. They need to know how to take things less seriously like men do if they want genuine equality.

This is what I don't understand, especially when people adhere to patriarchy theory. It makes no sense. Even if these counterpoints are right, they're irrelevant. That doesn't stop the fact men are sent to war, die of homicide, get ground up by the justice system, ignored, suffer homophobia and experience police brutality. It's genuinely a "asking for it" fallacy, the whole "Mary-Sue was raped." "What was she wearing?" "A low cut top and short skirt." "Well, she was asking for it." That didn't s…

Women have been in the lead as far as education goes for some time now. Conservatively, off the top of my head I would say this was documented at least as far back as the late 60s, early 70s, no? Late 80s onwards is where the decline in male education started being noticeable?

There's definitely a line that's crossed where it stops being "levelling the playing field" and starts becoming "owning the playing field". Having the option is there, but promoting it, focusing on it? Make a men only scholarship then. Since the women's only scholarship exists to gain equality. Darkness rises, and light to meet it

I torrented it myself, honestly out of desperation as I ran out of money to go see it at the cinema. Best circumstance ever. If I had paid I'd be even more furious at this film. It really isn't a good movie from a filmmaking standpoint. The narrative choices, the jumps in logic...such a frustrating letdown. The doll community is cool though. I don't only collect dolls, but Funko pops, Hot Toys, action figures, love collecting. Dolls themselves, there's so many kinds. It's really cool the advance…

Part of the issue is he's disabled so she's the breadwinner - that's a long story in itself, the disability has developed, so his income has been incredibly inconsistent, while she's involved in schooling which is pretty consistent in comparison. it’s asking every person to consider the other side of the coin, wear their shoes for a day, and not make the same mistakes that were handed down to us by a perhaps somewhat less open-minded society. Except it's failing then. The amount of women who want to live in Barbieland prove women are also not understanding the film, it isn't just Ben Shapiro and "evil men". You'd also have a point if it weren't for that damn joke about supreme court.

There was a recent development that movie studios can be sued for false advertisement in their trailers now. The marketing for this was slick, so I think a case for false advertisement wouldn't get very far, alas. But yes, it was manipulative.

THANK YOU. Barbie was a message first, and a movie second. That's not how you make movies. I've been laugh-emoji'd for calling it propaganda. But even if you remove the ideological elements - it literally is still propaganda: to sell toys. It's...it's propaganda whether you like that term or not.

Completely agree. I'm a male Barbie collector and was so excited for this movie. Had the film ended like that, I wouldn't have a problem. But it ends like that all for a cheap joke about how bad women have it (or have had?) in the real world...where Barbie goes to live. What? This movie contradicts itself so much and has such a muddied messaging, but it also shouldn't be surprising it's resonating with so many, it's confirming bias for different perspectives...except ours. Pretty malicious

This website must be satire. There's no way grown fucking adults put "Unbiased" and "Feminist" in the same goddamned sentence. You're right, it's a contradiction. By being feminist - regardless of type of feminist - you're stating a very specific perspective. By claiming that perspective adheres to the ideology while being unbiased makes absolutely no fucking sense. You either have an ideological perspective or you don't.

You know what I love about that term? It's a man (because femcels are a thing) who tries and fails to get laid. The assumption here is it's a straight man trying to get laid with women. This is a feminist creation that's yet another "have cake and eat too" scenario, because they get to paint us as ravenous sex creeps while also delighting in men not getting laid. Grade-A cognitive dissonance. It's a sick, manipulative act of psychological warfare. It's insidious. And just to clarify: no, nobody'…

I dropped out of school first term of year 11. I love education but I hate, and still hate, school and the schooling system. Part of the issue is I am neurodivergent, and I wasn't in a special needs school, I was in a "normal kid's" school. When I have kids they're definitely going to be homeschooled, and the socialisation will need to be thoroughly worked out before that stage. The thing that's probably missing here is the wife and father probably had a tiff about this. The fact he was there and clearly didn't have an issue. If he did, he would've talked to his daughter and asked her to sit on her own seat or something. Like, this shows you the power dynamic women have in relationships. I see it with my eldest brother. You know what else is manipulative? The movie, pre-release, was heralded as a story about humanity, about existence, about people. It wasn't. It was about womanhood. They deliberately lied. While there's new laws about misleading trailers I doubt director's statements before a film's release can be class actioned as false advertising. It shows Greta at least thinks women are humanity, though, so I guess that's a win regardless. Feminism is honestly gender narcissism isn't it? It's one step away …

Problem is The Sun is seen as a right-wing tabloid so any activism will be shrugged and laughed off. I believe I was molested as a young boy by a neighbour's father, and I was certainly sexually abused by my female cousin. So, yes, at the very least, the reality of men being sexually abused and raped needs to be acknowledged.

The problem is the film is muddled in its ideology. It wants to please everyone while focusing on feminism and even gets all that wrong. As a Barbie collector, Mattel is most definitely against motherhood and housekeeping as a brand element so it shouldn't be surprising this is how the film went. The thing I find hilarious is any criticism mentioning patriarchy is met with "ugh you just didn't GET it!" then those same women go on about how much they want to live in Barbieland. Bitch NEITHER DID …

The Barbies LITERALLY manipulated the Kens and NOT A FUCKING PEEP FROM ANY WOMAN ABOUT THIS INHERENTLY FEMININE CHARACTER TRAIT OF MANIPULATING MEN ON THE FUCKING DAILY

The one thing - the LITERAL ONE THING - that praise and criticism about this film has as a throughline is how either angry the film is (which it is) or how depressed the viewers felt after. It's...bizarre.

The problem is fans of Barbie the movie will be saying that's all Hollywood's done, then complain people are surprised movies for women, sometimes made by women, make money. Like...no, you can't have it both ways. Mamma Mia, Twilight, Fifty Shades, Magic Mike...women are the biggest spenders of money. You can't then say "Oh movies are always for men" when you keep, year in and year out, get movies made for you, and the second $1b movie of 2023 is a movie that reinforces your ideological viewpoin…

My issue with a lot of the pushback to the pushback is the diminishing of it "It's just a movie about a doll". This language is intentionally manipulative. They want a movie that's faux intellectual but when you challenge the ideas "it's just a movie about a doll, man up". No. Greta set out to make an intellectual movie (mileage varies on her success rate) and I'm engaging on the level Greta established. Don't you - the person who's getting confirmation bias - negate the discussion. Engage with …

I was similarly disappointed. I knew there'd be gender stuff in the movie and I thought a fish-out-of-water subplot for Ken would be cute, and they'd both come around to wanting to be themselves instead of "made for each other", but Barbie got that and Ken got stuck in the matriarchy. I'm a male and a Barbie and doll collector. This movie felt like Mattel was telling me to fuck off.
